SEA will highlight its leading torpedo launch system at Defense & Security 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand, which provides a key element of multi-layered ship and fleet protection capabilities.

With an array of torpedo launch systems in place in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, the cohort will use the show to further strengthen its relationship in the region and support a major bid with the Southeast Asian Navy.

David Hinds, Vice President of Strategic Accounts at SEA, said: “We look forward to returning to Thailand’s defence and security space. The show is a great opportunity to forge new ties and develop existing relationships in key ASEAN regions.”

SEA’s renowned torpedo launcher system provides rapid launch of a variety of NATO standard caliber light torpedoes. The system is easy to configure and flexible to suit all weapons and platforms, while it is designed to meet the requirements of ships of different sizes and configurations.

“Threats to the Navy are constantly changing, and our system provides the flexibility to meet these evolving challenges and provide protection to its fleet,” added Richard Fleetton. “As our systems go live across the region, the opportunity to gain the latest insights from locals and key industry stakeholders has been invaluable to our business.”

In addition to the torpedo launch system, SEA will also highlight its unmanned anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capability, the Krait Defense System. Key to ensuring operational advantage in crowded underwater combat spaces, SEA will discuss how unmanned platforms can work in tandem with manned vessels to cover large surface areas for enhanced submarine detection.

The show will also allow SEA to introduce its integrated communications systems to the region. The system connects critical defense capabilities, allowing near-instant reconfiguration of the platform’s communications systems to adapt to rapidly changing operational needs.
