
information – Sonnet Technologies, maker of many Mac and PC accessories, has released their newest docking station, the Echo Dual NVMe Thunderbolt Dock, which has a modest number of USB-A and USB-C connectors, but adds dual NVMe drive storage slots for extra Provides up to 16 TB of fast SSD storage for Thunderbolt-equipped computers.
The Echo Dual NVMe Thunderbolt Dock features two 10 Gbps USB-C connectors on the front, one 10 Gbps USB-A port, and one Thunderbolt peripheral port, plus an upstream Thunderbolt port for connecting to a computer and a 10 Gbps USB – one on the back connector and 12V, 8A power connector. There is also a Kensington lock slot on the back for security.

Each NVMe slot supports up to 8 TB, for a total of up to 16 TB, and can be configured as individual drives or set up in RAID 0 for transfer speeds of up to 3,000 MB/s. The dock includes a Thunderbolt cable and Sonnet’s ThunderLok 3 to help hold the Thunderbolt cable in place.

The Echo Dual NVMe Thunderbolt Dock supports displays up to 5K via Thunderbolt or USB-C, and can connect to HDMI or DisplayPort displays via optional adapters. The upstream Thunderbolt port only provides 15W of power, so all but the smallest laptops require an external power supply.
