Succession Episode 4 Review: The Worst Family Reunion Ever

Meter

Your new game is drinking every time someone rants “You are trying to f*** me” in the fourth episode succession. Just kidding, this will ruin me. Yes, after last week’s installment with the FBI raid and the all-staff meeting destroyed by the rock music of the 90s, everyone felt paranoid and highly nervous, and was no longer so focused on fighting for positions, but trying to excuse each other. There is a group of people here, they are definitely, Unhappy in their headspace.

The terrible shareholder meeting is getting closer and Waystar’s top team has no way to implement damage control. The latest strategy is to hold an All-Star conference call on Kendall-“It’s the Pepper Sergeant of Broken American Companies!” It was his response-trying to get him to agree to the demands of irritable investor Josh Aaronson, and Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Logan (Brian Cox) meet together. Kendall angrily refused, declaring that the optical system was “terrible”.

Logan was annoyed by “everything is fucking coming soon” and decided that he needed better protection—especially protection from the President. He asked Shiv to increase his bet when criticizing him in the air in order to exert some pressure. Then he called a secret meeting with…Greg (Nicholas Braun). He wanted to take our favorite cousin aside to deprive Kendall of the remaining ally. Logan gave Greg rum and Coke—a kind of “strong for men,” according to the creepy Greg—and told him that he was influential and that he should consider what he wanted.

Elsewhere, Roman (Kieran Culkin) just remembered that Kendall’s stag behavior was really terrible. Apparently, Kendall paid a homeless person to get his initials tattooed on his forehead. Preparing to blow up Kendall’s “wake-up man” image, he set out to find the man he called… the tattooed man. When he tracked him down, the tattoo had been removed-but the photo still exists. Gerri (J. Smith-Cameron) is a smart woman. She suggested that Roman sit on the photos temporarily-through association, they could be fatal to him. “How does this improve my personal status? Think about it 24/7. Get That Tattooed on your forehead,” she suggested.

Everyone wants Greg to be on their side… He just wants to run a theme park

/ HBO

Shiv (played by Sarah Snook), she should at least attend that nightmare town hall meeting, of course she deserves a Brownie score, but she found that she didn’t really have any authority, and no one really respected her. Even Connor (Alan Luck) rejected her offer to run the company’s food network channel, which sounds like a good job.

My favorite minor episode of this episode is that Tom Wamsgans (Matthew McFadien) is getting nervous, he is studying the prison facilities to deal with the upcoming potential prison time. He pushed Greg to the corner and began to furious at him, telling how Nero kicked his wife down the stairs and married an eunuch boy named Sprus, well, there was no ominous premonition at all. When he sobbed at Shiv—”When can I read it?” He wondered, apparently didn’t find the answer in his FAQ document about going to jail—she didn’t express sympathy.

However, the main scene of this episode is the reunion of Logan and Kendall, through a meeting with Josh Aaronson on the Gale Coast. The worst family reunion ever. It starts with low-power games on their helipad-just like you-and then gets more pressure from there. Adrien Brody starred as a burly and wealthy investor, Aaronson, whose little finger is wrapped around the Roy family. While having lunch at his Big Little Lies-style beach house, he wondered if Waystar could really operate as a company, considering the degree of family drama. Logan gave one of his classic humble and focused speeches about Kendall being “a good boy”, declaring that “he did what he thought was the best thing-maybe he went too far” but he loved him,” Maybe he is one of the best”. This is a good performance, but like Kendall, we have seen it too many times and cannot be fooled.

Kendall and Logan meet with Josh Aaronson

/ HBO

Everything seemed to be going well until Aaronson moved on and let Logan and Kendall quarrel and walk back to his house. Kendall let Logan retire, Logan refused and said that he did not want to see his son in power. “You are 600 years old, and you angered your boyfriend, the president,” Kendall said. Then… Logan was out of breath. No, when you try to persuade someone to invest billions of dollars in your company, you almost collapse when you go fast. Nor is it good to make your son more interested in persuading the said man to give up his cash instead of helping his father. Even at the death gate, Logan was ranting, “You want to fuck me!”

In the end, Aaronson decided to leave, declaring that the leadership was too divided and he had no confidence in the future of Post-Logan Waystar. Convene a general meeting of shareholders…

Everyone wants a little Greg this week. After Waystar’s courtship, he set his sights on running a theme park. Does he know that this does not include riding a horse all day, but to meet with annoying relatives indifferently? Nevertheless, if there is no result, at least he may no longer hang out with Kendall now. Strong toxic friendship alert.

Is Shiv as strong as we thought?

/ HBO

When Logan called Shiv and told her that everyone was laughing at her, I felt sorry for Shiv, “Everywhere is moving forever”. Kendall was even more blunt, calling her “head down ***”. No one can say that she is unfaithful to the job-I mean, she just took her own brother away for the company. Someone told me that she would not lose without a fight…

Least Impossible to Enjoy a Holiday in Central Park: Logan Roy

For most of this episode, people suddenly said they had something “on” Logan. It turns out that no one is more important than his own cardiovascular health. Logan’s age and frailty are always in the background of all Game of Thrones, and this week has gone up a notch.

“You know they call me Terminal Tom because I have occupational cancer.” Pray for Tom Wambsgans of The Walking Dead at Waystar.

Succession will continue on Monday and 9pm at Sky Atlantic
