Between August 23 and 30, these videos were played 17.1 million times and viewed 2.2 million times. Various other applications added 3.4 million views.
Speaking of vaccination: This time, it is indisputable that it often makes sense to make more differentiated observations of incidence than before. Changes in morbidity among vaccinated people can lead to conclusions about possible viral breakthroughs—that is, infections that cannot be prevented even with double vaccination. Because there is no vaccine to prevent infection in all cases, such breakthroughs can be expected within certain limits. However, if the number suddenly rises sharply, this may indicate that the effect of the second injection is slowly diminishing in the population. On the contrary, looking at the incidence of people who have not been vaccinated can be used as an early warning system for the situation in the hospital, because these people will continue to be fully hit by the new coronavirus. Kim Björn Becker writes that the Robert Koch Institute is currently checking whether it has calculated the incidence of vaccinated and unvaccinated populations throughout Germany. Since July, experts have reported the incidence rate more than twice a day-each time referring to the number of corona patients who had to be hospitalized within a week due to infection and the number per 100,000 residents.
