Design and features
I reviewed SwitchBot’s curtain control system before here And found that they are powerful, reasonably priced and easy to use. I always welcome the addition of more components to expand the possibilities of my home automation, so I seized the opportunity to review the new contact sensor and Morion sensor.
Both products are well protected. I appreciate the smallest packaging.

Both the motion sensor and the contact sensor contain AAA batteries. The lid can be easily removed without tools.

The manual is small, but easy to read and full of technical information.
Adding sensors to the Switchbot app couldn’t be easier-install the battery, click (+) to add the device, and the app will find each sensor effortlessly. A SwitchBot hub is required to connect the sensors and make them compatible with Alexa.

After adding, the application will display the current state of the sensor on the homepage.

On the page of each Sensor, a log of the device history is provided.

In the application, the signals (light level, time of day, switch contacts) that can be generated by motion sensors and contact sensors can be used to trigger automated “scene”. Triggers can be linked to commands available in the SwitchBot hub library. For example, if the sensor does not detect any action within 10 minutes, the hub can order the TV or lights to be turned off. Very convenient for those with forgetful roommates! Every scenario I tried was executed reliably within a few seconds of being triggered.

Even more powerful is SwitchBot’s Alexa compatibility-because my SwitchBot account is already linked to my Amazon account, once I add devices to the Switchbot app, they can be linked to any other apps in the Alexa app Or functions are used together, so the possibilities that touch and motion sensors can trigger are almost endless. I installed a touch sensor in the storage room door to make sure it was closed and moved when the unwelcome squirrel decided to take my lawn mower for a ride. If the door is opened, a light in my home connected to the WeMo switch will turn on, and I will receive a notification on my phone.

Use the included double-sided tape for quick installation. The motion sensor has a magnetic base and can be deployed on any iron surface.

what do I like:
- Easy to set up and operate
- Reliable performance
- Multiple sensors in each device
- Use commonly used AAA batteries
- Long battery life
- Good quality and low price, great value for money!
What will I change:
Final thoughts:
SwitchBot has added a lot of technology to their motion and contact sensors, filling the required slots in my home automation system. These sensors are inexpensive, very easy to use, and are packaged by a successful combination of sensors built into small packages. I am sure that I will add more SwitchBot products to my home soon.
