Design and features
The discussion of handbag design must start with its size. Airlines are very strict about the space of their overhead luggage racks and have strict guidelines on the allowable size of carry-on luggage.
For most American airlines, the allowable size of hand luggage is 22 inches high x 14 inches wide x 9 inches deep. Some international airlines allow larger luggage. But even Qantas, Australia’s largest airline, only allows luggage that is 22 inches high x 14.2 inches wide x 9 inches deep. July Carry-On Pro measures 22 inches high x 15 inches wide x 9 inches deep. Even for major airlines, this is too big to fly to Australia in July. It is also too big for Allegiant, American, Delta, JetBlue and United. Interestingly, you’d better choose Spirit and Southwest because they allow larger luggage. This seems to be a huge design error.
Beyond size issues, our Carry-On Pro is a cleverly designed bag with some very good features.

Let’s start with the telescopic handle. Unlike other bags with only one or two heights, this handle has 20 separate positions between low and high. Everyone should be able to find a comfortable height for the handle.

All four-corner casters and double wheels can roll and rotate smoothly, and can roll smoothly on hard floors and carpets.

Inside the bag, we saw a fairly standard design-there is a zippered mesh compartment on the left and an open compartment on the right with compression pads to hold everything in place.

Open the zipper of the compartment and you can see a deep, lined compartment. It is large enough to easily hold two pairs of my 11.5 size shoes. With a zipper cover, this compartment is perfect for storing small items.

We see a similar space under the compression pad. Look at the right-do you see the small bag on the right?

In that bag, July stuffed a convenient waterproof laundry bag, which can hold some small clothes or damp swimsuits.
I roughly folded a pair of heavy jeans and a few heavy hoodies, and threw them to the right.

After cutting the straps and pulling on the leather-led straps, I was able to compress the mess to a more manageable size.
At the top, we can see the handle. There is also a match next to it. In the middle, we see a high-quality YKK zipper neatly snapped into a standard lock that complies with TSA standards. Just below the lock, we see the telescopic handle.

Did you notice my name on the bag? July provides free personalization in nine fonts and 19 colors in one of the three locations of the package. If you choose personalization, you will lose the 100-day trial period for obvious reasons.

I think personalization is a good touch. It should look like a very high-quality mark.
So far, this is just a carry-on bag. Yes, well-made, but there is nothing particularly outstanding, except maybe the 20-step telescopic handle. This is about to change.
Let’s start with the laptop case.

The sleeve is firmly installed on the front of the housing.

The connecting bracket is both slotted and magnetic. The slot slides over the stud on the case and is very firmly held in place. I think the design looks clumsy and difficult to paste. I’m wrong. I pushed the sleeve into the opening, and the magnet attracted the sleeve to the stud again and again. gave me a deep impression. It is called SnapSleeve™ in July.
To remove the sleeve, open the zipper on the top and slide your fingers into the nylon loop inside. Then, you pull up and the sleeve pops out of the stud.

There is a zippered compartment on the front of the sleeve, perfect for storing cables or travel documents.

Inside the sleeve, there is another zipper compartment, a few mesh pockets under the sleeve, and a padded laptop compartment with hook and loop closure.

That is a 13.3-inch Surface Book. It should fit a 15-inch laptop or a 16-inch MacBook Pro.
Let’s look at the next innovative feature.

The second secret weapon is located under the telescopic handle.

What might be lurking under that door? strength!

Open it and we will see the charging ports-a micro USB, a USB-C and a pair of USB-A ports. But what happens if you have to check your luggage at the gate because all overhead storage space is full? They are not allowed to put lithium batteries in their checked luggage. How to do how to do? no problem! Press the battery pack, then…

It will pop up for easy removal. On the right side of the package, there is a small button that can be pressed with a pen. This will eject the entire battery holder. I’m not sure why you want to do this, but you can.

The battery pack has a charging capacity of 10,000mAh and has four LED power status indicators.
set up
The only setting is to change the combination, assuming you don’t want “0-0-0” as your combination. Like most other TSA locks, when the lock is unlocked (0-0-0), use a pen or other sharp object to press the button next to the dial. Then, you rotate the turntable to the three-digit combination of your choice and unlock the lock. This will reset the combination to your personal code, and you can start.
Performance
This carry-on bag rolls well and is well made. Its polycarbonate shell should protect the content while eliminating travel abuse. This is the perfect size for fast travel of a few days or so. This is especially true after adding a laptop protective cover, which eliminates the need to carry any other items. That is, of course, if your airline can accept this package.
what do I like
- Looks good
- Relatively light
- Beautiful packaging function
- The laptop case and battery feel good
What will i change
- this 22 inches high x 15″ The W x 9″ D size exceeds the 22″ H x allowed by most American airlines and many international airlines 14″ Width x 9 inches deep dimensions
- It’s a bit expensive, but it’s not out of the ordinary considering the special features
Final thoughts
As a travel bag, this is an amazing one. Unfortunately, its Achilles’ heel is its size-for almost all American airlines and many international airlines (including the major airlines that make this bag), its width is more than 1 inch. I do not understand. Since the offending size is its width, you may not encounter any problems. However, if the gate staff ask you to put your bag in a horribly sized box, you may be forced to inspect the bag. At least the battery pack will pop out to make you legal. If you want to seize the opportunity, it’s up to you.
