The latest aircraft carrying evacuees Afghanistan to British arrived in the country early on Thursday morning.
Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Royal Air Force Voyager aircraft carrying about 250 people acceptance Landed on Britz Norton Base in Oxfordshire Shortly after midnight.
According to data from the Ministry of Defense, more than 11,500 people have been airlifted to the United Kingdom since the start of the evacuation mission “Operation Pitin” on August 13, because the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan before the Western troops led by the United States withdrew from Afghanistan.
This includes embassy staff, British nationals, personnel in line with the Afghanistan Relocation and Assistance Policy (Arap) plan, and some evacuees from allied countries.
The Arap plan is designed to allow Afghans who help the British army and are therefore at risk of persecution by the Taliban to leave the country.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the UK has evacuated approximately 7,000 Afghans and their families.
The number of British citizens who still need to evacuate and the number of British citizens with dual citizenship is unclear.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said that “every hour” would be used to help people escape and refused to rule out the possibility that British troops must leave before the end of Friday.
