The leader of the Philippine church and the adviser to President Duterte let underage girls sleep with him as a “night shift”

The founder of a church in the Philippines has an estimated 6 million members worldwide. Its founder has been charged by the US authorities for allegedly operating a sex trading gang and forcing underage girls to have sex with him.

According to court documents seen by Insider, 71-year-old Apollo Quiboloy is the head of the large church of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. He faces multiple charges of fraud, sex trafficking and money laundering.

His two senior managers are also Helen Panilag and Teresita Tolibas Dandan. The US Department of Justice announced on Thursday.

The prosecutor said that Quibo Roy, who claimed to be the “child of God,” also runs a non-profit Children’s Joy Foundation registered in California, which uses donations to fund the luxurious lifestyle of the priest.

They said that Quiboloy and his managers usually recruit girls and women between the ages of 12 and 25, calling them “herders”.

Prosecutors said the mission of the pastor was to clean Quibo Roy’s residence, prepare his meals, give him a massage, and travel the world with him, including his residences in Hawaii, Las Vegas and California.

The prosecutor said that they were also forced to have sex with Quiboloy, which he and his managers called “night shifts” and were threatened with physical and verbal abuse. According to the DOJ’s indictment, if they refuse, the minor victims will be informed that they have demons in their bodies and risk being cursed forever.

The US authorities stated that Quiboloy and his managers told the victims that the “night shift” was “God’s will” and privilege, and was an opportunity for the girl to prove her commitment to Quiboloy.

The prosecutor added that Quiboloy will reward herders for traveling to Disneyland, taking private jets, using mobile phones, and an annual allowance called “gratuity.”

The US authorities also accused Quiboloy of fraudulently applying for visas for church staff, pretending that they entered the United States to attend church-related concerts and religious activities.

Prosecutors said that instead, they were offered jobs to solicit cash for Quiboloy’s organization and were sometimes forced to fake marriages with other workers who had obtained U.S. citizenship.
