Wilborn, a descendant of slaves, told the school board that installing CRTs in classrooms would not only fight racism—it would also incite “the flames of few embers.”
“I am a direct descendant of the North American slave trade. Both my parents are black. My four grandparents are all black, my eight great-grandparents are all black, and my 16 great-grandparents are all black.
“On my mother’s side, my ancestors were enslaved in Alabama. On my father’s side, we were enslaved in Texas.”
Wilburn is the founder and executive director of the company Rocky Mountain Black Conservative Party, And then hit directly because he announced to the board that he was not a victim.

Wilborn blamed the American education system for “inciting the flames of racism.”
“Bringing critical theory into our classrooms is taking our country in the wrong direction. If it weren’t for certain people and organizations to sustain life support, racism in the United States is basically dead today.
“Sadly, very sadly, the American education system is one of them.
“Putting critical racial theory in the classroom is not fighting racism. It is fanning the flames of the remaining small embers. I encourage you to support this resolution.

As The Blaze pointed out, shortly after Wilburn’s impassioned request, the 49 School Board of Colorado Springs School District voted 3 to 2 to ban the use of critical racial theory in the classroom. The administrator submitted their summary of the ban, which was transcribed by The Blaze.
The driving force behind CRT and anti-racism is the acceptance of a worldview that includes specific concepts about history, philosophy, sociology, and public policy. In its own terms, CRT/anti-racism excludes those who simply advocate the principle of constitutional neutrality, or who deny or question the extent to which white supremacy shapes our institutions.
Appropriately designed public education includes contact with age-appropriate events, philosophies, and structures that make up the American experience. Obviously, this may and should include an explanation of facts and related literature about racism and inequality in the United States.
However, such exposure should not claim to intentionally destroy student/family values, religious beliefs or principles. In addition, every student, regardless of status, has a unique life story.
Therefore, although teachers and administrators may recognize and/or believe in certain doctrines in the fields of faith, civil rights, economics, international affairs, sociology, or politics, the role of public educators should never represent them to recognize or preach. A specific point of view in any one of these areas. Of course, CRT/anti-racism or related euphemistic substitutes should not be an element of the D49 curriculum or teacher training.
