Man was stabbed to death in Woolwich in the south East London.
This victim A fatal stab wound was found at Woolwich New Road earlier tonight.
According to reports, the stabbing occurred on a busy shopping street in front of shocked onlookers.
Social media footage shows people holding up sheets to protect the privacy of medical staff while trying to save the lives of victims.
The horrible footage posted to Snapchat shows that locals are performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Armed police were at the scene and reportedly asked people to leave a nearby supermarket while searching for suspects.
A bystander told The Standard: “It looks like he is engaged in some kind of struggle. He is trying to block the attacker with an umbrella.
“They worked for him for about an hour, then called and the London ambulance left.
“Some friends there were crying and talking to the police.”
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “The scene of the fatal stabbing by the police at Woolwich New Road. The crime scene still exists. At this early stage, no one has been arrested.”
Greenwich City Council leader Den Thorpe urged residents to hand over any social media footage of the murder to the police.
He said: “After the terrible incident in #woolwich this afternoon, we are in close contact with @MPSGreenwich
“Please don’t share the footage online, but send it to the police and help us bring those responsible to justice. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.”
