We live in an era of redefining words.
For example, “violence” has a whole new meaning.
Old definition: violence.
The best I can say at this point is that this word means something that someone doesn’t like.
In a related story, Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky are working to correct the wrong education.
According to reports University restoration, The school district will organize anti-racism math teacher training.
The directive will span the entire academic year and is aimed at “eliminating violence in classes.”
Another goal: “Innovative Mathematics Education”.
Every application The form allegedly obtained by the export:
The cohort will include anti-bias, anti-racism, and racial justice practices to eliminate curriculum violence and innovate math education.
This is good news for all participants: the training is not aimed at Brazilians or Malaysians, but specifically for whites.
Maybe they started from that, and they will deal with other skin tones in the future.
Flyer from Twitter:
Through this cooperation, mathematics educators will find ways to analyze, identify, and challenge prejudice, racism, and whiteness in mathematics education. More importantly, while accepting the guidance and participation of leaders of racially equal countries, they will formulate countermeasures. Racist teaching practice mathematics.
The monthly 2-hour seminar will be hosted by Dr. Lateefah Id-Deen from Kennesaw State University.
Kennesaw Teacher page Describe the professor like this:
My research investigates the mathematical identity and sense of belonging of disadvantaged students in order to strengthen the teacher-student relationship in the math classroom. I also explored black students’ perceptions of their experiences in math classrooms, and ways to support educators to listen to and develop practices related to student expression.
Obviously, the training is provided by the Department of Diversity, Equity, and Poverty in Jefferson County.

It is nothing new that racism fabricated by white people undermines the concept of mathematics.
Just like me cover In February, Oregon tried to reduce the count and calculation of its KKK components:

From that report:
The Path to Fair Mathematics Teaching: Eliminating Racism in Mathematics Teaching Provides 14 manifestations of white supremacy.
Compliments New York PostTo get rid of racism:
- perfectionism
- Sense of urgency
- Defense
- Quantity beats quality
- Worship text
- There is only one correct way
- Paternalism
- Either/think
- Electricity hoarding
- Fear of open conflict
- Individualism
- Make more progress
- objectivity
- Right to comfort
Work is being carried out on many fronts:

It’s not just elementary school math that needs to be changed. You can also take a look:
Not counting: Science tries to eliminate the term “quantum hegemony”-the reason is obvious
The college symposium destroyed the anti-black racism of “good” grammar
As pointed out Make fixed, Kentucky’s contribution to classroom correction is set as follows:
[Sessions will] Focus on topics such as white supremacy in mathematics, racial trauma in mathematics, and the development of anti-racism curriculum plans. …
In addition to the 2-hour course per month, participants will also receive personal guidance and feedback. …
Teachers who accept the program must teach four social justice math classes in the spring semester of 2022. They should also “plan to spread their learning more widely in their schools and districts.”
In the past few years, the school has indeed changed.
When I was growing up, the classroom was a place where children retrieved objective data from books and tested their memory of these data.
Or, they face the challenge of applying mathematical principles to solve quantitative problems.
Now that social awareness has increased so much, it is hard to imagine that learning institutions still have time to learn old things.
But I think they are figuring it out.
As for racism in mathematics, perhaps our contemporary consciousness will give birth to a brand new anti-white abacus.
This device may defeat violence.
Doing things differently, this may be exactly the change we need.
But if it adds and subtracts in a different way than you use your fingers and toes to learn…I wouldn’t count on it.
