Imagine having to share a plane with these unbearable people. Just thinking about it makes me a headache.
These people are hired to govern on the surface. Instead, they will go to Washington, D.C. to hide in order to prevent Governor Greg Abbott from convening a meeting of the legislature to pass the proposed bills. I can’t imagine this would be great for many Texans.
As for why they did this, this is mainly due to the Texas Voter Security Act, which is just a general list of general reforms that set standards for the voting system, many of which have been blown up by “emergency situations in 2020.” This is not Jim Crow. This is a chicken game that the Texas Democrats cannot win. With their own words and promises, they dug such a deep pit and drank so many beloved beverages worshipped by the national media that they forced themselves into a corner. This is how you end up on a flight without a return date to Washington, DC, and your employees are staring at the unemployment line for two months. These elected officials and their subordinates probably have family members and children to take care of.
This means that eventually, these clowns will have to go home, and it may be much earlier than most people think. When they do, these different bills will be passed because Republicans have a majority to pass under the existing rules. They can’t just abandon their families forever. They cannot just give up running for the next election. Their employees cannot survive without a salary.
In short, this is a tragic attempt to subvert the Texas representative election system. Not only will it not succeed, but in the long run, it will hurt the Democrats in Lone Star State. Whether DC consultants tell them this is a good idea, it’s an idiot.
