After news of the mission came out, Missouri’s Attorney General Eric Schmidt announced almost immediately that he would file a lawsuit to try to ban them, and members of the St. Louis County Council called for a new order regarding the county to be added to the board meeting tomorrow night Agenda.
But these are not the only elected officials who oppose authorization. The three municipalities in St. Louis County—Wildwood, Eureka, and Chesterfield, all located in the west/southwest of St. Louis County—have announced that they will not perform these tasks.Every KMOV:

Wildwood Mayor Jim Bowlin told News 4 that the city’s resources will not be used to enforce the mask regulations in St. Louis County. He said that companies should still have the right to decide whether they need to wear masks for customers, but they will not punish companies that do not wear masks.
“When we see that rules like the latest mask injunction are only based on the rise of a place where we might want to lead, and COVID will not go away, it means that if this becomes the standard, we will always do it It’s not practical or feasible at all,” Pauling said.

Chesterfield officials said they will not enforce the mask regulations because they have no right to do so. In December last year, Chesterfield Police stated that they would not implement the COVID-19 restrictions that were implemented in St. Louis County at the time. Chesterfield Mayor Bob Country told News 4 that he encouraged the wearing of masks and vaccinations. The City of Chesterfield prosecutor sent the following statement to News 4:
The City of Chesterfield does not have the legal authority to enforce the county health order. Our first responders will definitely respond to any calls to work hard to maintain peace, but we are not capable of executing county health orders.
In a sense, these jurisdictions are moving from state legislatures recently passed Second Amendment Protection ActBasically, these jurisdictions declare that they will not use local/municipal resources to enforce the rules issued by the county. This does not mean that the county will not/cannot enforce the rule. It’s just that the county government will not get help from Eureka, Chesterfield or Wildwood in this regard.
