Review: this ThruNite TH30 V2 LED headlight Durable and versatile. It gave me enough light to mow the grass safely in the dark. (Sometimes you just need to do this.) Design and features
- The LED light quality is “paper white”. Called “Cold White” by ThruNite. The beam has no perceptible yellow hue.
- Comfortable, adjustable and elastic fabric headband.
- The lamp lens forms a 90 degree angle with the lamp body. When placed on its tail cover, it can be used as a “standing” flashlight. (The tail cap is not magnetized.)
- A well-sealed charging port at the end of the lamp.
- The power switch only requires simple finger pressure, which is very helpful for headlamps. Push with one finger to turn on the light and cycle between modes, but lightly holding the light head while pressing the button ensures that it stays in place on the forehead.
- The LED indicators for low battery and charging are located in the rubber button cover.
- Except for Firefly, Turbo Boost, and SOS, the lights return to the last used mode.

Installation and setup
I first adjusted the headband to fit my head and adjusted the light angle. You may only need to adjust your headgear once. Then I removed the sticker that protects the battery from contact during transportation, replaced the tail cap and charged the lamp through the USB C port on the top of the lamp. There is no need to remove the light from the headband during charging.

Throughout my testing, the strap maintained its “fitting” setting. I never need to readjust the strap.
The lamp has been carefully designed and is suitable for headlamps. Its head does not feel heavy, it rests comfortably on my forehead, and it doesn’t move much during use. It will be a “dark and stormy night”, so I have to mow the grass after dark. TH30 V2 makes the originally impossible and somewhat dangerous tasks easy.
Pocket flashlight options
I never wanted a headlight that could not double as a handheld. TH30 V2 performs this multitasking process. Press and hold the power button with your thumb or index finger and hold the lamp like a can of mace.
If a pocket clip is attached, it must be removed to fit the flashlight into the two flexible rubber round brackets on the headband. The distance between the two round rubber lamp holders perfectly matches the same dent in the body of the flashlight. This careful consideration in the design ensures that the lamp does not slide on its headband support during use.
If removed and reconnected frequently, the pocket clip may damage the surface of the flashlight, and its grip on the flashlight may loosen.
In flashlight reviews, I always let my yard get out of the focus of my light pattern demonstration (sorry). The above picture is arranged in order from the lowest light to the brightest. Please note that the firefly mode is too dark for shooting. As usual, check the brightness of the grass, because the light on the shed is difficult to distinguish from the picture. In real life, the lighting modes can be distinguished from each other very well.
Operation
switch
Press the power switch once to turn on/off the light.
Change mode
When the light is on, press and hold the switch to cycle between low, medium low, medium and high modes.
Firefly: When the light is off, long press the switch to enter the firefly mode.
Turbo: Double-click the switch to enter Turbo from any mode.
SOS: Three clicks to activate SOS.
memory function
The lights will turn on in the last visited mode, except for Firefly, Turbo and SOS.
charging indicator
During charging, the indicator light in the power button is red. When fully charged, the indicator light turns blue. When the LED is flashing purple, it means that the charging is abnormal, and it may mean that the tail cover is loose. Only low-speed mode is available when charging.
Low battery indicator
When the battery power is lower than 10%, the main headlight LED flashes 3 times, and the indicator light on the switch flashes red.
