review – Last year I named Torras Coolify Neck Conditioner The best thing I’ve reviewed in 2021 and it’s not just my opinion – I have a lot of friends who have tried and bought one. So when Torras said they made some exciting changes and launched Coolify 2, I knew I had to revisit it. How could they possibly improve the perfect cooling unit? They also turned it into a heater. Now it may never come off my body.

what is it?

The Torras Coolify 2 is a wearable fan with a plate that rests on your neck to heat or cool.

set up

My shipping box was a bit crushed in transit, but the packing and unboxing experience is still well thought out. I especially like that they put the plastic case where you can store the equipment and make it more functional. Now it’s a zippered case with a carabiner, making it even more practical. The sticker they put in front of me was a little blistered, but I plan to remove it anyway.

feature

The changes they made to the second edition of the Torras Coolify 2 Neck Air Conditioner are both inside and out. Externally, the round shape of the original device has been reduced to square ends. While it still has a flexible hinge on the back, it’s not as adjustable as the original. I’m sad to see this because sometimes when you’re using it, you may want to tilt the fan out to reduce the amount of air that’s blowing in your face. You really can’t do this so easily anymore. Another change is that the air outlets used to be at the bottom and top, so you could get a breeze from your shirt neckline and face. In this version, the air outlet is only at the top. I didn’t miss them (I think because this device cools better). You still can’t use the cooling plate without a fan, I hope they change that. Not everyone who is hot wants air to blow all the way to their face.

Other than that, I’m very happy with the rest of the changes and features. There’s still a button to turn it on, and a short press toggles between fan speeds. Long press to turn it off. They’ve also added a small screen that tells you the battery status and what level of cooling or heating you’re using, so no more guesswork.A button on the other side changes it from a cooling device to a heating device

They greatly enlarged the cooling plates and are now almost as wide as the Torras Coolify 2 itself, and they extend farther around your neck. The result is a cooling that feels instant and amazing. If it wasn’t too hot outside, I would shiver when I put it on – that’s what it does. Trust claims it gives the sensation of instantly cooling the body by 27 degrees. I don’t know how they measure this, but I won’t argue. In previous versions, the cooling plates could only stay on for twenty minutes before you had to turn them on again. How long do they last in this build (or the battery lasts – up to three hours on my model). The website says they have sensors that continuously change the temperature of the cooling plate to keep the wearer feeling cooler. All I know is that it works really well and is comfortable to wear.

The cooling plates used to be at the back, but now there are two and they wrap around the sides, which I think enhances cooling.

On the other side of the device is another button that toggles the board from cooling to heating, and like cooling there are three levels of heat too. I should also mention that the fan doesn’t run when the heating is on. It’s just hot and feels a bit like a scarf. I only used the 1st floor heating and although the cold air makes you feel cold, the heating effect is warm, but if you are really cold you may still want a sweater. I’ll try to heat it up on a higher setting, but honestly it gets pretty hot! I had to take it off a few times because it felt like we might be getting into burning territory, but when I put it on my arm it wasn’t hot at all. I guess I just have a low tolerance for heat in my neck. In my family we call it the baby neck (when someone complains that something is too hot to eat, we call it the baby mouth. My son has a chronic disease).

The Torras Coolify 2 also offers a larger battery (5,000 mAh instead of 4,000), and it’s called the Long Endurance Edition. It’ll set you back $20 more, and if you like bells and whistles, the $229 limited-edition model also comes with a larger battery, carbon fiber like the exterior and color-changing panels, orange for heating, and black for cooling. Some models are also available in white. In the future, I would like to know if they can incorporate the music function. When you put it on, it’s already kind of like you’re wearing a new kind of earphones…I wonder how hard it would be to add some bluetooth bone conduction to it?

what do I like

  • Larger cooling plate doesn’t close
  • Heating options

what would i change

  • I want to open the cooling plate without a fan
  • Can they fit into the music?

final thoughts

The Torras Coolify 2 is just in time for my summer vacation and I take it with me on every trip. How many times have I been on a plane that was too hot or too cold? The problem is solved. I am very impressed with the new features!
