Traffic lights agree to compulsory vaccination for certain occupational groups

DAccording to Green Party leader Katrin Göring-Eckardt, possible future government partners SPD, Green Party and FDP agreed to introduce mandatory vaccination in certain areas. “We will need mandatory vaccination for facilities, nursing homes, daycare centers, etc. We will tackle this problem,” Göring-Eckardt said in Berlin on Monday. When asked, she confirmed that the required members of the traffic light alliance had agreed on this issue.

Göring-Eckardt explained that the move is not part of the reform of the Infection Protection Act that will be passed this week, but a separate legislative process.

Despite plans to tighten the corona measures, according to the wishes of the traffic light party, German stores should continue to operate in the future. “We don’t have to close any stores, and virologists tell us this,” Göring-Eckardt said. Restaurants should also remain open, as long as they can provide enough space and have proper hygiene concepts.

The bar may be closed

On the other hand, the bar can be closed. In the event of a pandemic, there should be as many people as possible. Göring-Eckart stated that when the planned 3G rules are implemented in public transportation, the doors of buses and trains should not be continuously controlled. Instead, it should be queried as part of ticket control. It should also be fine.

In the case of local public transportation, the districts announced their opposition to the Traffic Light Party’s plan. “Although it is correct to reduce the number of contacts in public spaces, it is also wrong to impose unimplementable restrictions,” said Reinhard Sage, the chairman of the district council of the New Osnabrück newspaper. 3G regulations are “almost uncontrollable” in local public transportation.
