Superior Plymouth Stephen Washington, the victim of the shooting, paid tribute to this “friendly, loyal and outgoing” family man.
They said in a statement that the 59-year-old was one of five people shot and killed by Jack Davidson on Thursday night. He was a “loving husband, father, grandfather and best friend.”
The family added that the tragedy “turned their world in the blink of an eye.”
Mr. Washington was the fourth victim in the shooting. He was shot to death in front of frightened bystanders in a park in the Keyham area of the city.
Mr. Washington’s family said: “Stephen is a friendly and outgoing person. He will help anyone without hesitation. He likes his animals. He is often seen walking his two huskies in the area.
“Stephen is a loyal family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and best friend.
“Since the devastating event a few days ago, our world has turned upside down in the blink of an eye, and everyone who knows him will miss him very much.
“Our hearts and thoughts are with the families who are also affected by this tragic event.”
Sheila, Mr. Washington’s widow, described him as her “soul mate” and added: “Fly high, you have gained angel wings.”
Davidson shot his 51-year-old mother Maxine in a house on Biddick Drive, then he walked to the street and shot 3-year-old Sophie and her 43-year-old father Lee Martyn.
In the 12-minute attack, Davidson then killed 59-year-old Mr. Washington in a nearby park, and then shot and killed 66-year-old Kate Shepard, who later died at Drifford Hospital.
