Sexual violence: the suffering of expelled children

With sunshine and good food, they should “recover from the air of the big city.” However, until the 1980s, countless children who were sent to treatment alone experienced psychological and physical violence. Guest post.

andFrom 1948 to the early 1980s, approximately 80 to 12 million children were “sent” to the old Federal Republic. They are between 2 and 14 years old and spend most of their time in children’s nursing homes and children’s nursing homes alone for six to eight weeks, without their parents. In the Alps, the salt baths or the North Sea or the Baltic Sea, they should be “spoiled”, and it is said that they will “recover from the sunshine, fresh air and good food in the city air.” However, many children deported have experienced violence rather than family affection, relaxation, recovery and rebirth. The final report of the 2010 Family Education Roundtable did not mention this affected group. However, at that time, there were already signs of their existence.

Since I published a report about myself in a daily newspaper in 2009, I have received nearly 400 reports from other affected people on the website I run as the author. I contacted them, collected a lot of information, and published it on a website that can be connected and communicated in August 2019 (www.verschickungsheime.de). Soon after, the Association for the Preparation and Research of Children’s Transport AEKV eV was established. A meeting of experts was held, which resulted in the “Send Children Initiative”. Since then, thousands of people affected have publicly issued testimony about their deportation, which they regard as a dream.
