Review – The LED strip is cool. They can add accent colors to your home decoration. Most LED light bars display a color of your choice. Twinkly, a manufacturer of application-controlled addressable LED lights, recently released Twinkly Line. Let’s see why this is not your father’s boring old LED strip.

What is it?

Twinkly Line is an LED strip that can be controlled by additional controllers and applications. Since each LED is individually addressable, you can create cool multi-color designs as well as mobile lamp designs.

  • Twinkly Line LED strip with controller and power pack

Design and features

If you have seen an LED light bar, then you will know what it looks like. Most of the ones I have seen are white, but Twinkly chose black. This is the only option they offer. The controller is connected in series between the strip and the power pack. There is a button on the controller that allows you to switch between several lighting options without using the app.

This photo shows the end of the strip. It has a port that allows you to insert an optional extension strip to increase the length to 10 feet.

The entire back of the strip is coated with 3M adhesive, so you can install the strip without using clips or screws.

They do include two small clips and a rubber pad for connecting the power cord.

set up

First, I connected the American plug adapter to the power pack. Then, I plug the LED strip into the end of the power cord.

Because I have installed the Twinkly app, once I plug the power pack into the wall, I can have it scan for new lights.

Using this app, you can choose to map lighting designs and create custom lighting effects.

Performance

It’s fun to use lights.

You can control the power and brightness in the app.if you have Flashing music, You can make the light pulse according to the ambient sound. You can set a timer to turn the lights on and off. For this, I chose to use automation through Alexa. Twinkly also supports Google Assistant.

The included animation is very smooth.

Let’s take a look at a few of them.

You can also create custom animations, limited to your own creativity. Another very cool feature of Twinkly lights is that you can combine them with other Twinkly lights. You can create a very cool holiday display, use these in a window, and then set Flashing string For your outdoor display, all of them are synchronized together.

One problem I can find is the same problem I found in all Twinkly lamps. Although they are definitely cooler than ordinary LED lights, they are expensive. Five-foot-long light strips are less than $100, and you have to really evaluate whether they are worth your wallet.

what do I like

  • Rich, bright colors
  • Cool animation
  • Scalable and groupable

What will i change

Final thoughts

If you are looking for very cool accent lighting for the interior of your house, Twinkly Line should be on your shortlist for consideration. There are definitely low-cost options, but most will not do all the things Twinkly Line would do.

I chose an additional 5 feet extension to bring the total lighting length to 10 feet. This is what our sliding door shutters look like at the top of the price.

I am very satisfied with the results and look forward to seeing how others will react when they come to our house.

Price: $99.99-$59.99 for a 5-foot extension
