After fully charged, the next step is to insert the SIM card. This is another standard process. The Unihertz Titan Pocket can hold 2 SIM cards, and the tray can also hold a micro SD card.

So let’s talk about my overall impression of the Unihertz Titan Pocket smartphone. This phone is very sturdy and compact, I can put it in any pocket, and if I miss it and fall on the floor, I won’t worry. In fact, I threw it through a room about 8 feet in the air, and it fell on the tiled floor without any damage. The touch screen movement is very sensitive and smooth, and the fingerprint sensor can work normally every time. My fingers are not small, like BlackBerry, it is difficult for me to use a physical keyboard. However, the buttons on the keyboard feel very good and can respond immediately. One of my favorite applications is FM Radio, although you need to use wired headphones to listen because the headphone cord is used as an antenna. I tried the included remote control function with the built-in IR remote control, but even though the two TV brands I tried were in the default list of the app, I couldn’t get it to work. Every time I choose a brand, the next screen seems to be frozen.
I think one missing feature is that the phone is not waterproof. I’m not sure what is needed to make a phone with a waterproof physical keyboard, but I still want to include this feature.
In terms of sound, the call is clear, and the volume of the Unihertz Titan Pocket speaker is sufficient. Battery life may be better. If you use the phone frequently, it will take you through a working day, but not from early morning to late night. My day starts at 5 o’clock in the morning, and I return home after 6 o’clock in the afternoon. When used in large quantities, this battery may barely work. One of the main performance flaws I have encountered repeatedly is that when the phone is idle for a period of time, it disconnects from my WiFii and seems to also disconnect from my provider’s data connection. When this happens, I cannot reconnect through the settings and must restart the phone to do so.
Note: I have a screen protector. I removed it many times but did not reinstall it correctly. This is why the screen looks like this.
It is worth mentioning that the Unihertz Titan Pocket is not listed in my provider’s database, and for some reason, the connection on the screen is shown as 3G. Although this phone does not provide any 5G compatibility, the specifications say it is an LTE connection. This is most likely a problem with the provider.
Anyway, I like the love/hate relationship with this bulky beast, it can meet most of your needs for a smartphone in a compact and sturdy package, but if you put it in your pocket, it will drown ! 🙂

Final thoughts
After using the Unihertz Titan Pocket smartphone every day for about a month, I developed a love-hate relationship with it. I like its design, build quality, functionality, touch screen and size. I hate it reminding me that it is difficult to handle such a large keyboard with my fingers, and I hate the inconsistent Internet connection. In addition, bragging about its ability to withstand drops but not waterproof is a miss for me, IMHO, any new phone must be compatible with 5G. Nevertheless, it is a good phone, and in terms of price, it should be very suitable for some people.
