Asiamoney, one of Asia’s leading financial publications, named Universal Robina Corp. (URC) the most outstanding company in the consumer staples industry in the Philippines for the third consecutive year in its 2023 Asia Excellence Poll.
Asiamoney awarded the award to URC, one of the Philippines’ largest food manufacturers, after an exhaustive survey of the region’s top capital movers and financial experts.
URC President and CEO Irwin Lee said that winning this award three times in a row “is a recognition of the quality of our products and a testament to our valued customers’ unwavering trust and confidence in us.”
He added: “It is also a recognition of the exceptional dedication shown by our employees and an affirmation of the overall excellence of our company.”

The 2023 Asia Outstanding Companies selection includes more than 1,225 fund managers, analysts, bankers and rating agencies. Listed companies in 13 Asian markets received a total of 7,653 votes.
The results recognized 194 companies that were the best performers in their respective fields and markets.
The survey recognizes public companies that excel in areas such as financial performance, management team excellence, investor relations and corporate social responsibility.
Lee thanked the diverse group of fund managers, analysts, bankers and rating agencies who participated in the vote.
