Review – Since the pandemic stopped my work trip, the pursuit of the perfect desk has been my top priority. I tried several different types, from minimalism to traditional to dining table. For one reason or another, everyone has a shortcoming-minimalism is usually not much there, traditional styles may be dull and outdated, and the dining table is just a strange idea.I want something big enough to hold all my things (and I have a a lot of Things) but not big enough to occupy the entire office. Then came the opportunity to review the third iteration of the Vorii ElementDesk standing desk. I hope I can get closer to my vision of perfection…
What is it?
Vorii ElementDesk v3 Standing desk It is an MDF laminate sitting/standing desk with 2 motors that enables it to lift up to 390 pounds. It comes in 2 sizes-the traditional 55×28 inches and the larger 71×32 inches. The top is available in matte black, white or walnut, and the legs are available in matte black, white or silver gray. In December, the leg/bracket will have a fourth option, light blue. If you want to use your own desktop, you can order the legs/stands separately.
My desk is a large matte black.
assembly
The Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk arrived in two boxes via FedEx on two different days. The first box that arrived was a desktop computer. Initially, I was worried about the size. I have measured it many times, and the 71×32 inch desktop should fit perfectly. However, judging from the size of the box, I am not sure anymore. When I opened the box, I learned that my fear was unfounded—Vorii packaged their products well to prevent damage during transportation, so there are multiple layers of protection to make the table look bigger. The same protection was also evident in the second box that arrived 2 days later, which contained all the frame and leg components.
The most time-consuming task of setting up a new desk is to dismantle the old desk. It took most of the day to undo all the hacking attacks I did on the desk and then find a suitable place to store my equipment during the transition period. You never know how many wires there are from your computer to monitors, speakers, storage devices, etc., until you have to unplug them all. Seriously, I have enough cables to fully restrain a football team (not that I am against any football team).
The fact that Vorii says that you need 2 people to assemble is printed on the box and in the assembly manual. This fact makes me very grateful to the only FedEx driver who transports the box. There are two points in this process that require a second person: move the box into the house, assemble it, and stand up. When they say this, please believe them.
I first laid out all the parts on the carpeted floor of the office. This is one of the two motor units connected to the bottom of the table:

Next, the motor unit, motor controller, leg and balance foot support:

Then there are the stabilizer bars, the control board and cables that run between the two motor units, and the covers for all the wires (more on this later):

Attached to the motor unit and ready to be attached to the stand of the Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk-total time so far (after all components are deployed), 10 minutes.

With the bottom of the table facing up, the legs are connected and ready to install the motor controller, control panel, legs and legs. I have just entered the construction phase for more than 20 minutes.

This is where I encountered one and the only problem in the process. The instructions say that when installing the wire cover, you should use the 12 supplied screws. problem? The length of the wire cover itself is far insufficient to cover the entire bottom surface. I thought maybe I missed a piece, or I had an incorrect piece, so I searched the box again to make sure. No more wire coverage. I think this is because of the size of the table-maybe a smaller table can hold all 12 screws. The only way I can do this is to use 4 screws. When I turned the table upside down, I also added a cable duct to manage all these cables, power bricks, etc. Yes, I could have painted it black to match the table, but I am fundamentally lazy. If someone gets under the table to comment, it is their problem.

The missing screws will not affect the Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk in any way structurally or aesthetically. It’s just that the description is specific about the number of screws, so literally, I have to see if I’m missing something.
With the screw detour, I entered the assembly in about 45 minutes. I connected my legs and feet and asked my wife to help turn them face up, and voila! Finished product:

There are no extra parts (except for 8 unnecessary screws), it looks good and can be put into use in less than an hour.
How does it work?
After standing upright, the first thing to do is to calibrate the lifting motor. Just press the down arrow until the table is in the lowest position. Release the button, then hold it down for a second or two. complete. Adjust the height to a comfortable sitting position and place it in the first (four) memory slots. Raise the table to the perfect standing height and store it in memory. Finally, I am ready to start assembling the command and control station as my desktop.
Fast forward a little more than two weeks. Except for the 3 days in Seattle, I spent almost every day at the Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk. The average working day is about 9.5 hours. On weekends, it may take 2 or 3 hours in total. I stayed here for a while. my thoughts?
I really like the Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk.
This is my first personal sitting/standing desk (go back in time when people went out to work, I had one-but never in my house). For some time, I have recurring low back pain. Recently (and very strangely), my right foot became visibly swollen at the end of the working day. I count it as age and too much time on the desk (see previous paragraph). However, now I am sitting in the morning, and after lunch I will stand in the afternoon. In these two weeks, my back pain has almost disappeared and my feet are no longer swollen.
Well, to be fair, this might be the benefit of sitting/standing desks. What is special about the Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk? One word: inheritance. Because this is a well-made piece of furniture, after I leave, my children can carefully strive for what they want. Not only did Vorii put a lot of time and effort into making beautiful furniture, but it also showed clear and concise instructions on how to assemble it (or take it apart when needed to be moved) in all aspects of the experience. The motors were very quiet (the last one I had in that distant office sounded like a Concorde preparing to take off) and the collision avoidance system prevented me from tearing off my DAKBoard monitor from the wall next to the table more than once.
Let’s talk about the size of the table first. 71×32 sounds big, especially considering that many other tables are 10 inches or more shorter than this one. I am lucky to have a dedicated home office space of 10 x 12 feet, and this desk fits in that space very well. My previous desk was 60×30, but it actually felt much larger than the room. Even standing, the room feels more open. Coupled with the extra space, I now have space on my desk for some extra things-such as office supplies, pencil cups, my headphones, and it still doesn’t feel crowded.
But there are some quirks. The first is the underside of the table-there is a slope of about 1 inch around the entire table. The figure below illustrates this. It is important because it may make it difficult to use one (or two) monitor arms, because the clamps cannot maintain a horizontal grip at the bottom of the table. Vorii sells single and double arms for desks, but if you have already invested in the equipment, be prepared to buy them again.

The second is the lack of power cord management options. What I mean is to provide a desktop, it has a cord drop, through which you can send cables down on the desktop instead of from the edge. I know I can get a grommet and drill it myself, but the truth is that nothing I do will be of the same quality as the factory produced, and I am worried that drilling may cause the top of the laminate to chip or chip. I drilled the hole. The place. This is a beautiful table, and I don’t want to do anything that will tarnish its beauty.
One last thing to talk about: price. The Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk is not a cheap desk, you can buy it from a company named after a South American river or our friends from Scandinavia. At the risk of repeating yourself, this is a beautiful piece of furniture, and you will pay a reasonable price for it. As far as my configuration is concerned, the reasonable price is $995. However, this is how it is-if you need a table, you have many options. Suppose you are a carpenter-if you keep buying cheap hammers that can last a year or so instead of buying the best hammer you can afford, how far will your career go because it’s for you Career investment. This is how my desk and I are. This is an important part of the work I do, and I won’t have any problems with spending my money in the best place. Constantly being reminded of the difference between your setting is not optimal and not even considering it, because everything you need is at your fingertips.
By the way, this is what the Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk looks like after all my equipment is set up. Now you know why it is important to me.

what do I like
- From the desktop to the instructions on how to assemble it, quality is everywhere
- Options-size, color, etc.-mean you can make your own
- I feel much better after using it for two weeks, so it’s good for my health
What will i change
- Flat edge, no bevel
- Adjust the description so that literati like me don’t waste time looking for places to put 8 extra screws
Final thoughts
I have been writing code all my adult life. In the past 24 years, I have done this work almost entirely away from the traditional office environment, often in my own home. I had many desks during that time. In the past few weeks, no one has made me forget their existence like the Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk. It only works for me, I have breathing space, and thanks to the sit/stand function, I feel much better. My mentality is better at the end of the working day because I now have room to distract and change my workflow to something better for me. I’m sorry for the endless talk on the desk, but for me, the Vorii ElementDesk v3 standing desk is transformative in all aspects. At least you can ask most desks, but you may not get it.
