Recently, sports writer Jason Whitlock signed with Glenn Beck’s The Blaze network to produce a new audio/video podcast called FearlessBefore the actual first episode, when asked what the purpose of the show was, Whitlock Explanation Participating in The Blaze allowed him to freely include his recently rediscovered Christian faith in the show along with sports talks. Although this is certainly worth applauding, it is worth pointing out that we have beaten Baker and Whitlock on the good pirate ship RedState, oh, nine years.I introduce Cephas hours.
A bit of a background story. Long before I started to write a sports blog, this was partly because the blog was either unknown or non-existent at the time. I was an active music journalist covering contemporary Christian music scenes for different publications. This is from 1987 to 1994. Most publications are long gone (I swear, it’s not my fault). During my tenure, I often feel frustrated because the artist I want to write and promote, the first generation of Christian alternative rock singers, is almost at the end of the priority list of various record companies and publications. I want to talk about Daniel Amos, Steve Taylor, Undercover, The 77s, The Choir and many other bands and artists. They want Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. I once interviewed Smith; still waiting for an interview with Grant. But I digress.
11 years after I quit the industry rather shamelessly, a concert in Southern California rekindled my enthusiasm for music that had been almost neglected for more than a decade. Without publication and other issues, I started to write a book describing in detail the life of the artist then and now, which once again meant a lot to me.It can be in Amazon If you are interested in.
Established in 2012, Cephas Hour is a weekly program of an Internet radio station that broadcasts Christian rock and pop music from the 80s (the format of the station was and is in the 80s), occasionally appearing in the 70s and 90s. With the development of the show, in January this year, the radio owner “recommended” that because my playlist is getting larger and larger, maybe I should transfer the show to the podcast format. In other words, he shut me in a jar.
The show is now aired once a week, despite occasional gaps, featuring the best Christian rock and pop music of the time and now, and really express some of your comments on spiritual or social issues between the first few songs . The second half of the show is dedicated to music.
Although non-mainstream Christian music may not be suitable for you, if you have fond memories of classic Christian rock and/or are eager to find something different outside. Praise and worship on KLOVE, I encourage you to listen to this show . It can be obtained through multiple channels:
Sorry, there is no Spotify.
I will return to my usual sports, social and political commentary in the next article. I just want to share something that I have been passionate about for years, and hope that at least some of you will like music and information. Thank you.
