In the past year and a half, perhaps no one has done more damage to the credibility of the scientific community than Dr. Anthony Fauci. RedState has written so many articles that I can’t count, documenting his contradictions, dishonesty and even complicity regarding COVID-19 (see here, here, and here sample).
However, Fauci is still a superstar on the left, mainly because he represents Donald Trump’s foil, and because he has become more openly politicized during Joe Biden’s tenure. For those who desire power, Fauci is the perfect spokesperson, able to transform false claims of scientific authority into constantly eroding government power.
As a defense, Fauci often hides behind naive claims. He claimed that science “has changed.” At the same time, when faced with the issue of the National Institutes of Health funding the Wuhan Institute of Virology, he often acted as if he had no idea that Chinese scientists were operating under the full control of the Chinese Communist Party.Fauci did it again this weekend Dramatic conflict Together with Senator Rand Paul, this raises more questions about why he seems to be so protective of the Chinese.
What’s new: Dr. Anthony Fauci just praised the “qualified and respected Chinese scientists” that the National Institutes of Health has been cooperating with at the Wuhan Institute of Virology over the years for continuing to defend the National Institutes of Health’s research on the Chinese bat coronavirus Funding.@DCExaminerhttps://t.co/GDzRiNaQQ4

“You know, it’s more complicated than that… If you look at the research done, the research that is highly recommended by peer review, our American peer review. It has a very high score in the peer review system. The purpose of the research is very, very clear. This is an attempt to determine what in the bat population may ultimately pose a risk to us. It is done in the context of trying to find out the exact environmental bat source of SARS-CoV-2 so that we can prevent SARS -CoV-2.”
“So the research is done by qualified people. Now, when all these things happen in China, the situation now is different from the situation when dealing with qualified and respected Chinese scientists. So this is not about dealing with the extraordinary. Dealing with very bad people. Because these scientists are highly regarded in the international scientific community.”
Fauci has many things, but stupidity is not one of them. There is no secular explanation on this point, because he should completely ignore the fact that no personal qualifications in China can deny the control imposed by the communist leadership. Even assuming Fauci’s judgment is correct, these scientists in Wuhan will soon be qualified and it is impossible to separate them from the Chinese government.
The brutality of Communist China is no secret. They have been recorded for most of a century. However, Fauci clearly has no doubts about sending money to the CCP and believes their statement, despite their terrible track record. This becomes even more shocking when you consider China’s lies about COVID-19, from the initial cover-up to denying that it can be transmitted to the Chinese authorities, and now trying to accuse the United States through crazy conspiracy theories.
This is the government that Fauci thinks is worth colluding for scientific research?
Nothing special here.

Now, some people may argue that Fauci’s dependence and defense of the Chinese were really born out of ignorance before the pandemic. However, if this is true, you would expect his tone to change and acknowledge that cooperation with Chinese-controlled institutions is an unacceptable path.
On the contrary, when faced with the problem directly, Fauci turned. Yes, about the simplest layup he made to show that he now understands the dangers that China represents, he bounced the ball off the top of the backboard in an attempt to maintain his choice.
.@jaketapper: Looking to the future, given that China does not allow real investigations, do you still think that USG should cooperate with the Wuhan laboratory, especially in risk research?
Fauci: “We have been very careful. Looking to the future, we will continue to be very careful about our work.”

All this left a big unanswered question-what does China think of Fauci?
We are past the point where we can be blamed for naivety. On the contrary, possible explanations are now moving in the realm of evil, whether through self-interest or other reasons. At this point, Fauci has ample opportunity to absorb all the negative news from China throughout the pandemic. He no longer had any excuse to condemn their actions uncertainly and promise to sever the relationship.
Fauci will not do this, which is incredibly disturbing and suspicious.
