However, what accompanied the virtue signal from these companies was that they did not practice what they preached. Both companies quickly attacked Republican-led state legislatures for baths and election bills, but when asked about China’s abominable human rights record, they mostly remained silent.
This reminds me of CNBC’s Sara Eisen interview with Nike CEO John Donahoe yesterday. Watching Donahoe’s repeated canned responses, he tapped to completely revolve around Eisen’s problem, that is, considering how they tried to “stand up” in the so-called problematic legislation in China:

In the United States, no state legislature has a piece of legislation comparable to the human rights violations that occur in China every day. However, when activists leave the United States, Nike will not hesitate to speak out, but when asked to speak out or explain their silence about human rights violations in other countries, they more or not turn around. They did a multi-billion dollar business, and abuse of power did kill people.
The next time you see Nike giving an opinion on an issue at home, remember Donahoe’s response to Eisen, and understand that all of this is mainly voice and anger, which ultimately means to be seen as waking up except for an urgent need.
