It’s September, which means we can officially get excited about fall. As each summer ends and falls into fall, we say goodbye to the hot sunny days and welcome the cool, refreshing fall of autumn. Fall foliage is a wonderful time of year, not only because we can put on our boots and sweaters, but also because as the lush green leaves begin to change color, it creates gorgeous and vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow on hilltops and valleys . This is the best time of year to travel and enjoy the beauty that every state has to offer during fall foliage. Thanks to our state parks, America has special places across the country where we can enjoy places untouched by man in the glory of fall. There’s no question why it’s at the top of everyone’s fall wish list, seeing the best of fall in every different part of America.

Where to enjoy autumn leaves

Manchester, Vermont

Fall in Vermont is magical, and Manchester is one of the best places to experience it. From stunning views of the Green and Taconic Mountain range, when they first debuted, to pumpkin and apple picking at the rich farm. While you’re there, don’t forget the classic Vermont Maple Cream. To see the best fall foliage on The Blue Ridge Parkway during your travels in late September to early October, when the leaves at the highest elevations change in mid-October and mid-October when foliage on low- and mid-altitude trees will debut. My brother and his partner travel frequently to Taos and have long raved about the foliage of this beautiful state. Taos is located in the high desert of northern New Mexico, nestled in the San Grede Cristo Mountains. In addition to its rich history, Taos has a scenic trail through authentic Old Spanish ruins, as well as a sweeping view of the Carson Forest. Boston, Massachusetts

If you want the fall vibe of New England, but crave a trip to the city, Boston is the place to go. We love that Boston, despite being a city, has such beautiful fall scenery throughout the city and parks, and there is so much to do. Boston is a city rich in history, and you can use this wonderful time of the year to take their trolley or duck boat tour and learn about all the history the city has to offer. Head to Boston Common or Public Gardens to admire the fall colors and take a stroll through the park.Go shopping on Newbury Street and enjoy some comfort food on a cool evening little italy in boston (North end).
