Design and Features
I was initially drawn to the biometric access option of the WINCENT Biometric Gun Safe. The ability to open the safe just by pressing your finger on the fingerprint reader is great. The safe can store 100 individual fingerprints so you can store fingerprints for multiple people.
Like most safes, it also has a spare key to open the safe. This is useful when the battery is dead and you want to give someone access to the safe without giving them the password. The Type-C USB port also provides power when you’re not replacing the AAA battery, which is a nice feature.

The Type-C feature would be fine with my old safe as the battery was inside and the connection was broken. It took me two years to find the keys – luckily there was nothing inside and I had a spare safe.

The cable retention feature is the cable that is installed in the slot when the door is open. You’ll need to attach one end to something like heavy furniture. I think this feature can be improved. It should have a way to hold the cable in the slot. When the door is open, the cable can easily fall out of the slot and you probably won’t notice it. The cable is rated for 1,000 lbs.

When opened, the spring door opens fully on its own. However, when it reaches the fully open position, it bounces three times. I’d rather have a little bumper in there to stop it from doing that, but I wouldn’t call it a deal breaker.
The built-in LED light provides enough light to see in the dark, but not enough to attract attention. As long as we’re talking about light, the keyboard and biometric sensor are also backlit.
The safe is made of reinforced high-strength steel for strength and pistol safety. The anti-pry bar makes it impossible to pry with ordinary hand tools. The edges have three layers of steel, so it’s impossible to glue anything through the edge gap. The hinge is also not exposed, making it more difficult to tamper with.

If you’re not concerned about their contact or orientation, the safe can easily hold two small pistols, and two large pistols. The interior has 2.6 inches of depth, which should be enough for all pistols.
As part of anti-theft protection, if an incorrect password or fingerprint is entered 5 times in a row, the safe will sound an alarm and the system will be locked for 30 seconds. During this time, the safe can still be opened with a key.
what do I like
- Three ways to enter the safe
- Type-C port emergency port
- Built-in LED light
- Option to turn off sound (see manual)
- Pre-drilled mounting holes
what would i change
- The cable fixing location could be better
- Doors can use dampers
final thoughts
Overall, the WINCENT Biometric Gun Safe is an excellent product. I like the multiple ways to open the safe and the thoughtful anti-theft feature. The biometric fingerprint reader works well. I also like the high quality keys they offer.
