White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain (Ron Klain), some people think it is the power behind the White House throne. When asked about Afghanistan on CNN today, the Americans were still trapped behind enemy lines after the Biden team withdrew.
His response is a perfect example of the Biden team’s inability to be honest and transparent on the whole issue.
“State of the Union” host Dana Bash asked, “Let’s turn to Afghanistan. When the last military flight left Kabul earlier this week, more than 100 American citizens were left behind. What are they in now? Someone has gone out, how many others are there?”
Now this is a simple question, right? At least you can answer “how much have you gone out”. Unless the answer is no, and you don’t want to say. Then you did what Klein did, just saying a lot of words that didn’t answer the question.
Ron Klein, Biden’s chief of staff, doesn’t know how many Americans are trapped in Afghanistan, how many will leave after the army has withdrawn, or how they will be evacuated. pic.twitter.com/mSVliSFNeM

“We believe there are about a hundred,” he said. “We are in regular contact with everyone we have identified. Obviously, we hope that Qataris will resume flights from Kabul in the next few days. If they do, we will obviously see if Americans can take these flights.
He added: “We will find a way to get them, those who want to leave, to get them to leave Afghanistan.” “We know that many of them have family members, and many of them want to stay, but those who want to leave People, we will let them go.”
So he said something problematic there. He tried to inject this “many of them want to stay” thing to reduce the need for them to stay there and downplay how serious it is. Then he said that they contacted “everyone” regularly, and according to the report, this is questionable because they don’t even seem to know how many people there are, and it doesn’t match the report for those who feel they have been abandoned by the State Department. In addition, saying that you are connected does not mean that you are actually doing anything. This is what people, especially those who are trapped, want to hear-what are you going to do to get them out?
There is a report of a trapped person- Pregnant woman from California ——The Taliban are now hunting down the Americans. This is a report about the massacre of Afghan allies.
“The question is whether you hear what we think are reliable reports about the Taliban systematically hunting them down, many of them and killing them,” Bash Klein asked. “Have you heard, what is the government doing?”
“We are in close communication with our sources and our contacts in Afghanistan to try to take these SIVs out and let them leave safely,” Klein claimed.
“I know some came out by land. We will continue to work to rescue them from the air again. We will continue to move these SIVs out of the country. What I want to say is that, as we all know, we launched a historic airlift that will transport 124,000 People brought out of Afghanistan, including American citizens, legal permanent residents of the country, residents of other countries, and many Afghan nationals. We will keep these people — we have made these people safe. We will eventually reset them in Europe and the United States. This is An important part of saving the SIV population.”
But the problem is, when you talk about more than 80,000 SIVs and thousands of people who helped the United States but who may not be technically eligible for SIV status, they got 124,000 SIVs about 8,500 SIVs. 8,500 of the 80,000 people are not “an important part of saving the SIV population”. In fact, it is almost offensive that so many people have left many questions about some of the people they did take on the plane.
.@CarlaBabbVOA: “[T]This is about 7,000 of the 88,000 people, so more than 80,000 SIV and family members are left behind. Does the Pentagon see this as a success, leaving behind the 80,000 SIVs working with our troops? “

But most importantly, As we reported earlier today, 19 Americans and hundreds of Afghan allies left the plane blocked by the Taliban during the final inspection of Mazar-i-Sharif. The Taliban basically held them hostage to obtain US concessions/recognition/money. Please note how Klein didn’t mention this. This is a serious problem. Apart from paying any ransoms demanded by the Taliban, the government has not provided any solutions to what they are going to do. How do they plan to help those Americans and others out?
