Review – I have never used an indoor air purifier before, although I am the first choice. I have allergies, and a dog will shed frantically, with hair and pet dander everywhere. I finally decided to take the plunge and try Dreamegg’s TR-8080 air purifier. Because everyone should breathe a little fresh air in life.

What is it?

Dreamegg TR-8080 is a true HEPA air purifier with 360º air intake design, which can quickly clean rooms up to 250 square feet.

What’s in the box?

  • Dreamegg air purifier
  • 4-stage True HEPA filter
  • User manual

Design and features

The design of the Dreamegg air purifier immediately reminded me of the Apple HomePod, although it is much larger. The bottom of the device is ventilated at 360º to maximize air inhalation. There are exhaust ports and a touch-sensitive control panel on the top. Overall, the cylindrical design and rounded edges give it a beautiful appearance, which is perfect for any room. In fact, it looks more like a Bluetooth speaker than an air purifier.

Set up and use

Setting up Dreamegg couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is remove the protective plastic cover from the air filter and you are ready to use it. To access the filter, turn the device upside down and turn the filter cover counterclockwise to remove it.

The air purifier is controlled via a touch-sensitive control panel on the top of the device. Dreamegg adds a cool design twist, and the control panel sets it to the shape of the company logo. The control panel has touch-sensitive indicators for power, timer, fan speed, pet mode, sleep mode, night light, child lock, and filter reset. Each indicator will light up when touched, and only the mode in use stays on.

Fan speed

The air purifier has four speeds, I, II, III and turbine. The fan speed indicator allows you to switch between each speed. The speed level determines the speed of air intake and cleaning. At the two lowest speeds, the air purifier was barely audible. Three-stage and turbocharging are quite loud, but not annoying. Although I may not use turbo mode in the room.

Pets and sleep mode

Dreamegg has two unique modes, pet mode and sleep mode. Select the pet mode to run the device at turbo speed for 15 minutes, three-stage operation for 5 minutes, and then restore the default to the original settings after completion.

I have a dog, so this feature is very interesting to me. I put the purifier in my bedroom (approximately 132 square feet) because my dog sleeps with me in my bed every night. The first thing I do in the morning is to run pet mode after making the bed. How it quickly removes the smell of dogs in the room left a deep impression on me. And because it defaults to the last used speed, I don’t have to worry about going back and resetting it later.

Sleep mode turns off all indicators and runs the air purifier at the lowest possible speed. Tap the sleep button again to exit the sleep mode, and the air purifier will default to the last used speed setting. I use sleep mode every night, so quiet as if the air purifier is not running. I found that my overall sleep has improved. I won’t sneeze and congestion when I wake up in the morning.

It is very suitable for light sleepers. My only complaint is that I cannot choose a different speed. It would be nice to be able to choose the speed setting I like and not be locked using the lowest speed setting.

Timer

The air purifier has a convenient timer function that can automatically turn off the device after a set time. You can choose from 2, 4 and 8 hour timers. I tested the timer function and it worked flawlessly.

There are also several notable features on Dreamegg:

  • Night light: If the air purifier is used in a baby or children’s room, a two-stage warm night light is particularly good.

  • Child lock: This function prevents curious fingers from accidentally changing the settings of the air purifier. When enabled, it will lock all buttons except power. It can be turned on/off by pressing and holding the child lock button for 2.5 seconds.

filter

The air purifier is equipped with a 4-level True HEPA filter, which can purify 99.97% of dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke and household odors in the air.

A. Pre-filter

  • Capture large particles such as dust, lint, fibers and pet hair.

B. Sterilization filter

  • Remove bacteria and viruses in the filtered air.

C. Real HEPA filter

  • Filter out small particles such as smoke, mold spores, bacteria, viruses, and allergens such as pollen, dander, and mites.

D. High efficiency activated carbon filter

  • Physically absorb unwanted odors and fumes.

Dreamegg recommends using a soft brush or vacuum hose to clean the inside and outside of the filter once a month. According to the usage, replace it every 6-8 months. When the filter needs to be replaced, the check filter indicator will turn yellow. This indicator is also used to reset the air purifier after replacing the filter.Replacement filters can be purchased Amazon Less than $25.

Performance

As I mentioned before, I installed an air purifier in the bedroom. I don’t spend a lot of time in the bedroom during the day, so I run the air purifier on III or turbo. And I must say that after using it for a few weeks, the difference is very significant. It does a good job of reducing dog odor and dust that accumulates in the room.

To test how fast the air purifier can purify the air, I lighted 3 candles and blew them out. I left the room and returned in about 45 minutes. I can hardly smell the candles, nor can I smell the smoke.

what do I like

  • Beautiful design
  • Easy-to-use control panel
  • 4-stage True HEPA filter
  • Multiple modes and speeds
  • Quiet operation

What will i change

  • Ability to change speed in sleep mode

Final thoughts

In general, I am very impressed with Dreamegg air purifiers. It has a beautiful design. It has multiple speed levels and special modes for sleep and pets. The four-stage CADR 189m³/h + True HEPA filter performs well in filtering odors, dust, pollen, pet hair and pet dander in the air. Moreover, it is affordable and only needs to be replaced once a year. For me, Dreamegg TR-8080 is a Dream air purifier suitable for small and medium-sized rooms.
