Mr. Merrick Garland, Attorney General,
In a column you published yesterday for Washington post, You become the latest in a long list of Democrats and radical media members who cynically use the civil rights movement to promote the “For the People Act,” which ostensibly protects the right to vote. In your work, you evoke the legacy of millions of African Americans who are fighting for the right to participate as equal citizens in the political process of the United States.
In your stupid work, you even proposed the equal treatment of Congressman John Lewis. You wrote:
If there is no continuous call for action by the civil rights movement, things will not change. When 25-year-old John Lewis was assaulted on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, the Justice Department had been involved in voting lawsuits against surrounding counties for four years. Although there are approximately 15,000 black citizens of voting age in the county, the number of black registered voters has only increased from 156 to 383 over the years.
You also pointed out how in the decades after the Voting Rights Act of 1964 was passed, how the Justice Department successfully prevented efforts to deprive black voters of their rights. You celebrated the “pre-approval” clause, which prohibits certain jurisdictions from implementing new voting measures until they prove that they “have neither the purpose of racial discrimination nor the result of racial discrimination”.
For example, you wrote:
One blocked change involved McComb, Mississippi. A large group of black residents of the city have long voted at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, which is close to their home on the east side of the railroad tracks that pass through the city. In 1997, the city tried to move the polling station designated by the group to the American Legion Lodge on the west side of the track. To cross these tracks, black voters on the east side — many of whom lack transportation — will have to travel long distances to find a safe border crossing. Recognizing this difficulty, the Ministry of Justice prevented this change.
Most of the measures taken by the federal government to protect the voting rights of black Americans are necessary, especially when local and state governments are formulating brazen racist policies aimed at maintaining black second-class citizenship. These actions were necessary to subvert the prejudices that were commonplace at the time.
As mentioned earlier, both black and white Americans have paid blood, sweat and tears to ensure that Americans of all races are treated fairly. They work hard day after day to show that a black person can participate in the democratic process without facing onerous obstacles designed to keep them away from the ballot box in the United States.
In your column, you completely laughed at the work these people poured into lies many years ago. Like many of your left-wing comrades, you use the struggle of black Americans to advance your agenda. Your work is more than just restating history or acknowledging how far this country has gone. This is nothing more than propaganda persuading Americans to support the “Bill for the People”, which is nothing more than a federal takeover of local elections.
As other Democrats have done, you think it is wise to promote the “Jim Crow 2.0” narrative, and your boss likes this narrative very much. The reality is that neither you nor any of your associates have provided any evidence that the voting law passed by the Red State would in some way deprive black voters of their rights. In fact, in most cases, these states have expanded their opportunities to participate in opinion polls.
The fact is that you and your peers know that these laws will not prevent black Americans from voting. You know that Jim Crow has no place in this discussion. However, you still insist on using the brutal racist policies of the past to try to manipulate people to support your initiative. This reveals what many of us already know: You think blacks are nothing more than political pawns to achieve goals.
You could have defended your absurd legislation in principle.You can point out real Problems that may be solved.But because it is clear that the Corrupt Politicians Act cannot be resolved any Problems and may cause more problems, you decide to accept your white progressive tendencies, portray black Americans as helpless victims who cannot obtain ID cards, and position yourself and your associates as our white saviors.
The black man is not your pawn, nor is it the struggle of those before us. I know that Democrats like you do not respect the black community. But at some point, your exploitation strategy may bite you in reverse.
