Design and Features

The Okaysou Dance 430 4-Qt Air Fryer measures 13 inches high, 10 inches wide, and 12 inches deep in shade. It’s been designed as a compact unit to optimize your countertop footprint, taking up just a little more space than a coffee maker. The glossy black finish also looks good.

The basket itself is nonstick and dishwasher safe, designed for smaller cooking volumes. The cooking area is approximately 7 inches by 7 inches on the floor, 4 inches deep, and has a capacity of 4.3 quarts. You’ll get two large-sized chicken breasts, 6-8 wings, or 8-10 shrimp without overcrowding.

The basket includes a removable non-stick pan designed to drain grease from food. The plate has rubber bumpers to keep it from scratching the sides of the basket, and feet lift it off the floor of the basket.

As you can see here, it fits snugly in the basket. You will need to use a little oil or cooking spray to keep the food from sticking.

The touchpad controls are not visible until you turn on the device. Press that red power button to start the air fryer.

Once launched, you’ll have access to all the controls, which are pretty straightforward. The large center readout shows the temperature and time remaining during cooking, alternating between the two every few seconds once you’re running. You’ll adjust the temperature to 400 degrees using the two buttons on the left side of the display (temperature up and down), and the two buttons on the right (time up/down) have a timer for up to 60 minutes. There are eight presets at the top of the display for fries, steak, chicken, and more. There’s a “reheat” preset option on the bottom left, and a start/pause button below the center display.

There is a button on the handle that you can press to unlock and remove the cooking basket. The device will not start unless you lock the basket in place.

When you want to flip the food during cooking, if you remove the basket, the cycle of the program will automatically pause and resume when it is put back in place.

You will always start by preheating your air fryer. Make sure the basket is in place. Turn on the power and use the “Increase Temperature” button to set the starting temperature to 400 degrees.

Set the timer button to three minutes and press start to begin. At the end of the three-minute cycle, the device will beep to indicate completion. You are ready to cook! Note that you can also pause cooking at any time by pressing the pause/play button.

Performance

I’m a good home cook and I’ve never seen the need for an air fryer. But we’re mostly empty nesters these days, so I especially wanted to see how the Okaysou Dance 430 4-Qt Air Fryer could fit into our usual meal routine for 2. Small portions, quick weekend cooks, that kind of thing.

I started my test with some basics. The first cook was a chicken breast rubbed dry with some oil. I cooked one in the oven and one in the air fryer to directly compare the end results. Cook both breasts at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, flipping at a time.

I first oiled the basket a little to avoid sticking.

This is the finished result. The brisket on the left comes from the oven and the brisket on the right comes from the air fryer. You can see the difference in the crust. Smaller cooking spaces make a big difference.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the air fryer chicken was still moist and juicy; I really hoped it would be bone-dry. Look at the juicy deliciousness cooked to perfection! What’s the biggest difference other than the extra casing? My oven takes about 10 minutes to preheat. Okaysau 4 quart air fryer requires 3.

Cleanup is also simple. Nonstick pans add a bunch of ridges and holes to lift food and drain cooking grease. I recommend using a cleaning brush to clean all those cracks and crevices, but non-stick surfaces can be done quickly.

Remove the tray to wipe the bottom of the basket. Again, nonstick pans are your friend. A simple clear will do. Plates and baskets are dishwasher safe, but I would avoid this to protect the non-stick surface. You also need to avoid using metal utensils to flip food.

I also tried a few tests to see how much food I could cook in the basket. This recipe calls for tender chicken, lightly oiled, and then tossed with the bagel spice mix (sesame seeds, sliced ​​onion, sliced ​​garlic, etc.). The batch on the left was my first cook, I spread out 6-7 tenders on a plate and cooked for 14 minutes at a time at 380 degrees flipping. I felt lazy so I made a second batch with the remaining tenders (about a dozen).

Here are the results of the second batch. They turned out to be as crisp and evenly cooked as the first, but I did need to move them a few times during the cooking process.

My favorite Okaysau 4 Quart Air Fryer app is to serve a quick batch of roasted vegetables as a side dish. These are fancy carrots cut in half and tossed with sliced ​​scallions and a little oil and seasoning. I used the vegetable preset here.

Again, a perfect cook. Just slightly dented and a little charred around the edges. For this, I use the air fryer almost every night. Add a few handfuls of broccoli, Brussels sprouts, green beans…whatever you have on hand. Just make sure to cut off the larger pieces for consistent cooking. Preheat for 3 minutes + cook for 10 minutes so you can toast quickly and easily.

I was also impressed by the Okaysou Dance 430 4 Quart Air Fryer’s ability to dissipate excess heat. Instructions recommend giving it 5 inches of space and being careful around overhead cabinets where steam may trap. I didn’t notice the surrounding area getting particularly hot. The fan is powerful, but not very loud.

what do I like

  • Simple, straightforward operation.
  • The countertop occupies a small area.

  • Relatively easy to clean.

Areas for improvement

  • Nonstick boards have lots of ridges and cracks; you’ll need a brush to get the job done.
  • Good for smaller food portions; depending on your needs, this might be fine, but if you have a large family to feed, you’ll want a larger model.

final thoughts

I’ve never been a huge fan of the air fryer because I can do almost everything in the oven. But I get it now. There’s something to be said for the speed and convenience of an air fryer, especially if you’re cooking smaller meals. The Okaysou Dance 430 4-Qt Air Fryer is particularly easy to use and maintain, so I’m looking for more ways to use it regularly. I’m exploring more creative recipes I’ve seen on social media, so I’ll post more updates as I play with it.
