I try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible, if you want to listen to some music outdoors with other people, you need a waterproof speaker. Enter the Tronsmart Trip Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker. Let’s see if it can stand up to Washington’s wet weather.

Design and Features
The Tronsmart Trip Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker is a sleek, lightweight little speaker that’s surprisingly loud for its size. The connection is simple, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to power on, then press the bluetooth rune twice to enter connection mode. I found the speaker on my phone, connected and ready to plug and play in less than 20 seconds. One caveat is that when my wife tries to connect, it doesn’t appear in her discoverable list because it automatically connects to my phone. So if you want to connect a new device, make sure the connected device is out of range or disable bluetooth on that device first.
Reconnection is very quick afterwards, the buttons are made of rubber material and the action feels solid. I put the speakers in my disc golf bag and went out with some friends for a few rounds. I found that I could easily reach into my pocket and find the volume buttons by feel, but they were not inadvertently activated by other items in the pocket. You can also adjust the volume using your phone’s volume buttons. I was quite surprised by the loudness of the speakers, and while I’m not an audiophile, I think the sound quality is very good for such a compact speaker.
An external battery gauge doesn’t exist, but you can check it on your phone, similar to a headset. It’ll last 20 hours at 50% volume, so battery anxiety shouldn’t be an issue, and I didn’t lose connection even if I was 50 feet away, but that was in an open area with no walls or trees blocking the signal.
I also used the Tronsmart Trip waterproof bluetooth speaker while working outside the house, and I wasn’t scared when it started sprinkling water. It’s also light enough to fit in my jacket pocket when my wife and I walk, so we can talk and hear our surroundings while enjoying the music, rather than wearing headphones.

Final thoughts:
The Tronsmart Trip Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker packs a big punch in a small package. I love that it’s super easy to operate, and the ring has a nice touch so you can hang it on the clip. Water resistance stays the same in the rain, and it’s compact enough to easily fit in most bags or purses, so this little speaker will definitely have a place in my disc golf bag from now on.
