Elite Screens Yard Master 2 Screen Review-A screen as big as outdoors

Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screen

Review – As the northern hemisphere enters summer, more and more people start outdoor gatherings. If movies can be an important part of your party, then a sturdy outdoor screen will be necessary. to this end, ProjectorScreen.com Send me Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screen for testing. Between heavy rains, heat waves, and hurricanes, I was able to install it and test it. Let’s see.

what is it?

The Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screen is a 120-inch diagonal 16:9 aspect ratio screen mounted on an aluminum frame.

What’s in the box?

  • Tote bag
  • The framework is divided into 3 main parts
  • Hardware for assembly and stability
  • Screen in protective bag
  • Wooden stakes and ropes for fixing the screen
  • Instructions

Design and features

The Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screen frame is made of rectangular aluminum with steel hardware attached. The screen is connected to the assembled frame by a riveted snap fastener with a positive lock. They are about 8 inches to 10 inches apart, depending on their location on the perimeter. The distance between the midpoint and the corner is closer. Between these areas, the button spacing is slightly larger, but it still has an important function of preventing the screen from sagging.

The parts of the frame are reliably locked together by a wide cam and secured with a solid lock. Use the buttons near the joints to release the lock. These parts are heavy-duty—for example, the button is not a small ball used to hold it during assembly, but a solid spring button with a diameter of 0.375 inches that can open the internal cam. This is an instant lock, but it is easy to unlock.

The legs have hinge parts and gussets to fix them at a 90º angle. (There are similar gussets on each corner of the screen frame.) There are plastic end caps on each piece of the legs and supports, which will help prevent pinching and cuts and prevent bugs from entering the frame. Please pay attention to the Teflon™ floor guards in case you set it up in a parquet floor banquet hall.

Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screens are delivered in a sturdy box package. I’m talking about fiberglass tape and very dense cardboard. Inside the two thick cardboard boxes (yes, one inside the other!) is a sturdy nylon tote bag with a screen and frame inside.

When you open it for the first time, it is quite intimidating, but a quick glance at the description will reveal that its design is very logical. The screen material is protected in a separate zipper bag, and a padded flap is sewn into the tote bag to further protect it from hardware damage.

After unfolding the screen stand, connect the legs and screw in the eye bolts to connect the (supplied) tie rope.

Two people are required to set up the frame, at least when actually raising the screen on the stand. Two people are required to lower it to the ground for storage. One person can easily complete all other assembly steps. (To be fair, I did both of these tasks alone, but if it was another person, I wouldn’t be so nervous!)

I received the front projection model, but there is also a rear projection screen available. They come in many different sizes and two different aspect ratios. The diagonal dimensions are as follows:

  • 4:3 format 90″, 100″, 110″, 120″ and 135″
  • 55″, 58″, 90″, 100″, 110″, 120″ and 135″ in 16:9 format

Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screen material

From the website

  • CineWhite® UHD-B tension matte white front projection material
  • 4K UHD, Active 3D and HDR ready
  • Black masking border enhances picture contrast

During the test, after leaving the Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screen for a few hours after sunset, I hung the screen to wipe off the dew (and get rid of any errors!). Here you can see the white screen material, the snap buttons on both sides, the dense backing and side material, and the extensive use of stitching. Pay attention to the corner ring, it helps to align the corner to the frame. There is one in every corner. (Don’t worry-I just used clothespins to fix this photo. I don’t want to leave a dent in the middle of the screen!)

Set up

Although I briefly described how the frame and screen work above, putting them together is easy, if not convenient. You are dealing with some very long material, and there are joints here and there. But when you take it off, you have adapted to the behavior of this huge sail. This is the first time I put it in a delay. It is much shorter than I thought.

which performed

It is difficult to capture the brilliance of Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screens compared to poor quality screens, sheets or garage walls. I tried to show the screen on my deck at different angles in the photo below and used multiple exposure settings. The one with the all-white screen is a long exposure, so I can show off what you look like when watching the video.

what do I like

  • One bag full screen!
  • Tool-free assembly
  • Amazing colors of the screen with black background

What will i change

  • I can’t remember anything!

Final thoughts

Most of my career has been spent in the technical support department, and I had to assist in moving and setting up many screens. Some are easy, some are harder than they should be, but none of them have the quality and easy set-up capabilities of the Elite Screens Yard Master 2 screen! If you can follow the instructions of the Lego™ kit, you can try it first.

I read website information about color reproduction and screen quality, but everything they say is beyond the level of completion of the actual product. The black backing prevents light transmission, but also helps reflect better quality images. The entire screen is very light when assembled, if you need to adjust it for any reason (such as changing the seating arrangement).

If your church, club, civic group, school, or political organization uses video or still images as part of a public presentation, you will not find a portable screen system better than this price. Or if you are just the kind of neighbor who likes to let people out for picnics and movies on summer nights…
