AEEZO Frameo WiFi Digital Photo Frame Review Score

generalize

One of the cheapest options on Amazon, the AEEZO Frameo WiFi Digital Photo Frame is a great digital photo frame if you have realistic expectations.

advantage

  • value for money
  • Easy to set up
  • No app required

shortcoming

  • plastic exterior frame
  • Reflective IPS display with fixed brightness

I’ve reviewed several Aura digital photo frames now and they are probably the best quality options on the market, but they can be quite expensive because Aura Mason Luxury Cost £230.

If you’re looking for something more affordable, Amazon has plenty of options. Many of these appear to be white-label products based on the Frameo platform.

The AEEZO 9-inch frame is one of the most affordable options on the market, with a suggested retail price of £100, with a £10 coupon on Amazon right now.

Specifications/Features

  • 9-inch high-definition IPS display, 1280*800 resolution
  • 16GB built in (11GB available)
  • SD cards and USB drives can import or export photos from the digital photo frame.
  • Device-side image scaling, playback sequence hide/publish images, display title, adjustable brightness, sleep mode, photo interval, etc.
  • Upload photos using the Frameo App

set up

AEEZO is basically just a low-end Android tablet without any apps or Google services.

I’ve noticed some Amazon reviews criticize this as it needs power all the time. This might seem like a ridiculous criticism, but none of the marketing images show any power cords, so it’s easy to assume this could be battery powered.

All settings are done on the device itself via the touchscreen display. You just need to go through the basic setup process, which includes connecting to your 2.4Ghz WiFi network.

At the end of the process, you will be told to add a friend, which will provide you with a registration code to use with the Frameo application.

is using

This is basically a cheap tablet and the overall experience is similar.

One of the main advantages of this frame is that it has 11GB of available onboard storage, and you can import photos directly from the USB port or SD card slot. This will be a major selling point for anyone who doesn’t like signing up for apps to manage things. There are also no privacy concerns similar to Aura frames.

Perhaps the only downside to the above is that the frame doesn’t seem to automatically display images from the USB, you have to import them to the internal storage.

On the downside, this is a cheap Android tablet.

Up close, the frame is very malleable, and the quality is significantly lower than the Aura frames I’ve reviewed. But, take a step back and you can’t really tell.

However, the display is also of lower quality, it’s just a normal touchscreen IPS display with a reflective surface.

No Digital Photo Frames The same effect as a regular frame mounted photo can be reproduced, but the Aura frame’s matte display works really well, automatically adjusting the brightness to suit the environment.

You can turn down the brightness and set a sleep mode to tweak the overall performance, but it doesn’t quite replicate the natural frame look that many might want.

Not bad, though, the image does look good, and when you factor in the affordability of the frame, the frame and image look great.

I have it in our hallway and it works great, but I wouldn’t use it in the bedroom or even the living room (even when using sleep mode).

Price and Alternatives

The AEEZO 9-inch frame is one of the most affordable options on the market, with a suggested retail price of £100, with a £10 coupon on Amazon right now.

In the US they also have a new 2K 10-inch models from $130you can import it into the UK for just $13, or about £106.

This Halo Carver MSRP of £190, currently £150, or Aura Mason MSRP of £190, currently £170. In my opinion, the Aura’s frame design and materials look much more premium, and with a great matte display and auto-brightness, that’s a far bigger advantage. The only downsides are the need to use the Aura app and some privacy concerns related to smart features (which you can turn off).

Nixplay is probably another of the best-known brands on Amazon. I’ve never used any of these, some are currently out of stock, and the 10″ model is a bit more expensive than this AEEZO.

comprehensive

One of the cheapest options on Amazon, the AEEZO Frameo WiFi Digital Photo Frame is a great digital photo frame if you have realistic expectations.

While the build quality is a bit cheap, you can’t really tell unless you look closely. The overall aesthetic is good, and the picture looks good in the frame, but the reflective IPS display is a bit like looking at a computer screen.

Usability and privacy are excellent, and if you don’t want to use the app, you can copy files to USB and then copy them into the frame.

Overall, considering the affordable price of this frame, I think it’s a solid choice.
