review – When you’re a Gadgeteer like all of us, you need a pouch to store your gear when you travel (even if it’s just a quick trip to the office). Bellroy has a great selection of well-made gear bags, and today I want to show you their Classic Pouch and Tech Kit. let’s see.
what is it?
Bellroy Tech Kit and Classic Pouch are small zipper bags that help you organize your travel gear, doo-dads and thingamabobs.
Bellroy Classic Pouch Design and Features
The Bellroy Classic Pouch is made of waterproof fabric, made from 100% recycled PET bottles and has a pebble texture. It’s available in 4 colors, including the limestone color we see here. If that’s important to you, this color is leather-free.
The Classic Pouch has a simple design with a small suede or felt label, a Bellroy logo sewn into the top edge of the bag, and a woven zipper pull on the metal zipper.
Measuring 8.86 x 5.51 x 2.28 inches (225 x 140 x 58 mm), the Bellroy Classic Pouch features a half-moon flap shape with a zipper that wraps around the curved edge.
Inside the bag are two grey elastic mesh pockets sewn into one of the “walls” of the bag.
The “wall” opposite the Classic Pouch has a large pocket with a magnetic tab on the top edge.
I used the Bellroy Classic Pouch as a log gear rack during my recent vacation to Shipshewana, Indiana. I carry in a small bag:
- 6 Pilot G2 gel pens
- 1 Field Notes Notebook
- 3 Hobonichi molds
- Polaroid Hi Print Photo Printer
- (not shown) various stickers, glue sticks and a pair of small scissors
The Bellroy Classic Pouch fits this outfit perfectly, and there’s room for more! Elastic pockets allow you to easily stuff extra items.
I would also like to mention that the zipper moves smoothly. It drives me nuts when I have to fight with zippers, and I don’t have that problem with this pouch.

Bellroy Technology Suite Design and Features
If you want to carry more gear than the Classic Pouch, the Bellroy Tech Kit is a great step up because it’s not too big or too small. Just right!
Like the Classic Pouch, the Tech Kit is available in 6 colors, and I received a matching Limestone version, which is leather-free. There is also a smaller Tech Kit Compact version available in only 4 colors.
This 5.12 x 9.06 x 2.83 in (130 x 230 x 72 mm) zip pouch is rectangular and features the same type of sewn logo label, zipper pull and zipper as the Classic Pouch.
The Bellroy Tech Kit’s zipper extends around the 3 sides of the pouch, so when it’s fully unzipped, the entire pouch opens like a book.
There are storage areas on both sides of the tech kit. There is a large pocket foldable pocket on one side to accommodate a power bank. It has a strong magnetic closure and an elastic band that is divided into 5 sections.
There is also an elastic strap in the “spine”/center of the pouch to hold pens, pencils, stylus, Apple Pencil, etc.
I use the elastic to hold the lipstick, USB charging cable, pocket knife, polishing cloth and small flashlight. In the pocket behind the elastic, I keep some folded papers with my vacation plans.
The other side of the Bellroy Tech Kit has 2 large stretch mesh pockets that easily fit my Apple Airpods Pro and USB-C power adapter.
At just $10 more than the Classic Pouch, the Tech Kit (full-size version) is a great bag for storing bulky items. I really like that it unzips and lays flat. Another advantage over the Classic Pouch is that the Tech Kit has thicker sides to provide more protection for your gear.

When traveling with zippered pouches like the Bellroy Classic Pouch and Tech Kit, you won’t stress over your gear. These well-made pouches allow you to organize your gear so you know exactly where everything is when you need it.
