review – I’ve been very successful in remodeling basements so far, one specific reason is that I believe having almost all relevant tools and a few that may not be relevant but can be invaluable when trying to do something small is “irregular” or beyond recommended process. When working in an older house, I’ve often had odd problems and needed some type of multitool, either because of the size of the tool needed or because of which approach I needed to take to solve the problem. While it seems to be designed more for the outdoors, this BIBURY utility axe caught my eye as a tool that could be very useful as I continue working on my indoor DIY remodeling projects.

What is it?

BIBURY multifunctional axe is 15 in 1 Multitool An accessory for campers, outdoorsmen or DIYers, it combines a portable hammer, axe pliers, screwdriver, whistle and magnesium rod for camping, hiking, hunting and more!

Design and Features

feature

  • 15-in-1 Multitool Kit: The BIBURY compact multi-tool contains 15 different tools including hammers, axes, pliers, screwdrivers, saws, cutters, corkscrews, files, magnesium rods and whistles. It is made of high-quality stainless steel, and the tool surface is treated with durable black oxidation, which makes it rust-free and has a greatly extended service life. Absolutely super cool dad gifts and gadgets for men.
  • Required EDCs: These men’s tools are strong enough to cut, pry, hammer nails, screw screws, open fire hydrants, saw wood, break window glass, cut seat belts at dangerous leaks, and more. Perfect for expeditions, camping trips, fishing, hunting, hiking, backpacking, hiking or just stashing away in the car for a rainy day.
  • Easy to carry: A sturdy nylon bag holds gear well. A small additional rubber boot secures the blade to avoid possible injury when using anything other than a hammer or axe. Multiple tools in one layout save toolbox space and allow you to easily access them. A super unusual outdoor gift for men. Note: Use with care to avoid being scratched by a sharp axe.

The BIBURY Multi-Tool Axe is a medium-sized all-metal tool. Subtools are nicely hidden. At the top, there are axe, hammer and screwdriver bit holders. It’s relatively slim for a tool of this size.

Performance

This multi-tool has a total of 15 built-in tools. Everything feels very solid and IMHO most tools are easily accessible except for the 3 screwdriver bits. All built-in tools are useful in multiple ways, and nothing feels broken easily. An axe can sharpen wood and even a carpenter’s pencil. The hammer is capable of driving nails into soft to medium density wood. It might work on hard high density wood too, but I wouldn’t use it. Pliers are great for pulling out wooden pegs, and wire cutters will cut off the heads of small pegs. It’s not known how long a knife blade can withstand this type of abuse.

Overall, this is a solid tool with very useful accessories. Pliers, wire cutters, bottle openers, flat-blade screwdrivers, wire cutters, hammers, and axes all provide useful functions. I didn’t like the retrieval and return process of the 3 screwdriver bits, and I didn’t like the feel of inserting them into the axe head. However, keep in mind that this is an emergency outdoor tool and it will definitely work in relevant survival situations. The limitations/dislikes I’m referring to are obvious because I work indoors and in a way that wasn’t necessarily designed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tool to anyone on outdoor adventures, and I’d even recommend it for some indoor DIY tasks. By the way, I do like using the whistle to make it sound loud. It takes practice. Magnesium bars are a must-have for cold night campers.

what do I like

  • build quality
  • Various built-in tools
  • practicality of its application

what would i change

  • Some tools, such as screwdriver bits, are difficult to retrieve and replace

final thoughts

The BIBURY multitool axe is well made and perfect for the quirky tasks I’ve come across during my remodeling process. I use the knife and pliers functions most often, because I think screwdriver bits are bulky, so I don’t use them. Regardless, it’s a very good multitool, and for camping and outdoor adventures, I think it would be a great addition to the “must have” gear.
