Body of woman wearing green jacket found in Oxfordshire lake

The body of a woman in a green waxed jacket was found in a lake in Oxfordshire.

Thames Valley Policemen After the remains were found on Monday night, they were called to an area near the A34 and A40 dual carriageway.

Before 8:30 on Monday night, her body was found in the water near Yarnton.

The unidentified woman has shoulder-length black hair, wearing an olive green waxed jacket and blue jeans.

Investigations have been ongoing to confirm her identity, and the cause of death is currently considered unexplainable.

Detective Inspector Tracy Benham of the Banbury Police Department said: “Sadly, we found the body of a woman in the water. We are currently doing everything we can to identify her and notify her close relatives.

“In the next few days, during our investigation, the police force in the area will increase, but I urge the public not to speculate on the situation.

“We know that a woman has knocked on the door in the area in the past two weeks, and I will ask anyone who thinks they may have seen a woman matching the description provided to contact us.”
