Democrats have been dividing and trying to see everything through the lens of race.
But Transport Minister Pete Buttigieg’s efforts to do this in infrastructure today make people wonder if he is okay.
It started with CNN political analyst April Ryan on the issue of eliminating racism on the road. “Can you tell us how you will deconstruct racism on the road? …Can you talk to us about deconstruction?” Buttigieg’s response was another matter.
Second. Buttigieg only spent 3 minutes talking about “racist bridges”, trying to justify spending trillions of taxpayers’ money on the Soft Socialist Act

Buttigieg’s response included this crazy part:
“If an underground passage is built, a bus mainly carries blacks and Puerto Rican children to the beach, […] New York’s design is too low to pass, which obviously reflects the racism in these design choices. “
I have some questions. How does the underground passage know what race the child on the bus is? If there are white children on the bus, will the price of white children fluctuate and rise higher? It is safe to say that his comments are becoming more and more popular on Twitter because it is a bit crazy.
But this crazy comment actually has a back story. Buttigieg seems to be quoting a book titled “The Powerbroker” published by Robert Caro in 1974, which mentions the architect Robert Moses-Moses used the underground passage Make it low to prevent people of color from entering Jones Beach in New York.but As Bloomberg explained, this was debunked.
Contrary to the statement in The Power Broker, Moses clearly meant to provide him with a bus service at Rockaways’ “Little Jones Beach”-Jacob Riis Park. Although mainly for motorists (the parking lot was once the largest parking lot in the world), it is incorrect to exclude New Yorkers without cars. The original site plan included a bus drop-off area, and photos from that era clearly showed the bus loading and unloading passengers. “Bus connections with Brooklyn’s BMT and IRT,” the Brooklyn Eagle reported on the large waterfront playground opened 80 years ago this summer, “making it easy for non-motorists to enter the park.”
In addition, Bloomberg pointed out:
The bridge is drooping and covered with ashlar, which is essential for the park road stage art-part of a series of details designed to create a romantic and rustic feel. Park Road is just like this-a road through the park. It aims to literally and figuratively remove you from the city, this is the central park for motorists. The berm and the lush vegetation shielded the spoiled fantasy of the remote scenery, creating an almost movie-like impression, as if driving through a vast pastoral landscape.
Because of the leisure and entertainment infrastructure—stop first, then road—commercial traffic was excluded from all early American Parkways. This means not only trucks, but also buses. Banning large, noisy commercial vehicles is critical to the aesthetics of Park Avenue and has nothing to do with racial discrimination. There is no need to use southern state bridges as some kind of barricade; first, no buses are allowed on this or any other state park avenue.
Therefore, this reveals that there is a bigger problem with the knowledge of the Biden administration and Mayor Pete. Did he not know that this story was debunked? Why does he use this as a reason? Do they know the real reason for the use of low overpasses/underpasses in many places?
It’s like the attorney general Merrick Garland’s Failed to provide any data Because he decided to initiate a federal investigation against parents who criticized the school board.Congressman Request the data, but Garland failed to provide. Buttigieg also used a wrong example as part of his reason for taking federal action.
But this is another thing revealed by this question. They are not just talking about caring for roads that need repairs. This will be logical and necessary. But what is logical and necessary is not the slogan of the Biden administration.
Listen to what Buttigieg said. For “fairness” reasons, they are considering a complete redesign of roads and communities. This is an extremely expensive and huge effort from a government that doesn’t seem to know what it is talking about. And, if you are paying attention and using funds for this, you will not use it for roads or bridges that actually collapsed.
It is unbelievable that they will cause confusion with this attitude in the name of “fairness.”
