Happy New Year. I went a little MIA on vacation. I really need some offline time to reset, and while I’m going to go to Instagram to say my final goodbyes, I just don’t have the energy. I don’t quite know what it’s like to leave the platform (Lauren is managing my social media for me). I certainly find myself having more time and feeling less drained at the end of the day, but I need some real time before I reflect. I’m very excited about the engagement and enthusiasm of the new community (you can sign up here). Lots of great discussions happen every day.
On the home front, Craig completed the addition over the holidays. He’s been working on it since September and I’m just standing there in awe of the work he’s done. It’s amazing. We are waiting for an electrician to come and do the final install and then it will be ready. Right now we’ve been building fires in our wood burning stove. I found myself just sitting and staring at the flames. There are some meditations on it. I can’t help but wonder if I would have noticed how I felt sitting in front of the fire if I was still on Instagram. By far the greatest experience is my contentment in quiet moments. I haven’t fully considered my plans for 2023, but maybe this is the biggest one. happy weekend.
Here are the best of the week…
