review – in our kitchen, we have limited counter and cabinet space, so there is only room for so many appliances. Some will find a place in our kitchens when new appliances come out, but some don’t. Two appliances that we use regularly are Cosori Air Fryer and a IKICH Toaster. In this review, I’m looking to replace these appliances with an appliance that frees up some precious space in our kitchen. Is Comfee’s Air Fry Oven toaster up to the job? Please read carefully to find out.

What is it?

Comfee’s Air Fry Oven Toaster (AFOT) combines three devices – a toaster, Air fryer, and an oven – all in one. It has seven cooking functions, large capacity and multiple trays. “Commission is a professional manufacturer of small home appliances. ” Their Target is a complete range of home appliances that offer “the ultimate stylish design, simple functionality and very intuitive operation.” Comfee is a brand of Midea Groupa Chinese electrical appliance manufacturer.

Design and Features

The Comfee Air Fry Oven toaster is about the size of our air fryer. It’s completely black except for the chrome finish on the knobs and handles. It’s mostly metal, similar to our toaster, and has vents on each side. It has a squat cube shape with rounded corners on top. The front is dominated by three large round knobs and a glass panel that exposes the interior. Overall, its design is simple and pleasing, very similar to other gadgets in the field.

installation and setup

AFOT arrived well protected; it was double boxed and filled with Styrofoam. After removing everything from the packaging, I read through manual. For the most part, the manual is well written and clear. In some places, however, it has glaring problems. A paragraph with sentence fragments rearranged randomly. Another references rotisserie skewers, forks, screws, and removal tools, which are not included with this gadget. Comfee would be better off hiring a good editor for their manual.

There are four trays. The crumb tray is at the very bottom and collects the crumbs, like in a toaster, I always leave it in there. The others I only use when needed. The air fryer basket is for air frying food, the griddle is for baking, and the grill is for everything else.

Using AFOT is easy. I place the food on the appropriate tray and choose the function, temperature and time. AFOT has seven cooking functions, but the icons around the knob aren’t intuitive (at least not to me), except for the function for toasting. To make matters worse, they are not explained at all in the manual. The only thing I can find is pictures from their website. Temperatures vary from 200 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Unfortunately, the timer is analog, ranging from 10 minutes to 60 minutes.reviewed Kitchen Gadget with Analog Timer Before, I can tell you that I prefer the precision of digital. The moment I turn the time knob, AFOT turns on and the power light turns orange. To turn it off, I either have the timer count down or grab the time knob and set it back to 0. I prefer the close button to stop AFOT immediately.

If I want to see AFOT while it’s working, I can press the light button and see through the glass pane.

This oven is a no-frills model. There are no presets or settings that automatically set the correct time, temperature and function for me. How do I know which settings to use? The only hints Comfee gives are these six suggestions under the door; even then, they forget to specify the correct function to use. It would be very helpful if Comfee provided a longer list of recommended combinations in their manual (along with the features). Another missing feature is a halfway timer. When using an air fryer, it’s usually best to shake the contents of the basket halfway through; since Comfee uses an analog timer, there’s no way to do that.

Performance

To get AFOT on track, my wife and I tested it with six common foods we wanted to cook with this appliance. First, we baked some bagels. Bagels are probably the most common food we bake in the toaster, so I gave them a try. I set the function to toast and then did as toast suggested.

It turned out perfect! It’s lightly toasted and slightly golden, which is what I like.

Second, we air fry chicken tenders and sweet potato fries. I put everything in the basket on the middle rack and set the function to the air fryer. I followed the chicken nuggets suggestion, shaking them halfway through.

While the fries might be a little undercooked in the middle, they turned out really well and made a delicious meal.

Third, we decided to try the warming function of leftover New York-style pizza. Oh, it’s a dream! The crust was slightly crunchy again and the cheese on top was very melty. It’s much better than reheating pizza in the microwave. Full marks for this feature on the Comfee Air Fry Oven toaster!

Fourth, we decided to bake some apples.I follow loosely This recipe is from food.comwhich includes instructions for the oven, but modifies it to add more ingredients.

It turned out the best! I probably should have left it for a few more minutes as the apples were still a bit crunchy but really tasty. AFOT does a great job of baking these apples.

Fifth, we put some eggs in the ramen bowl, loosely follow this recipe. My wife prepared eggs and topped them with cheese. She sets the AFOT to 400 degrees and bakes for 10 minutes.

The eggs came out perfect. They were a little crunchy on top, but nice and fluffy on the inside. Serve with bacon for a delicious breakfast.

Finally, we decided to bake some brownies.my wife used it this recipe and added some Mint hot cocoa nuggets.Everything fits in an 8-inch round baking pan, and she sets the AFOT to bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes.

At first glance, my wife thought she was overdoing it, but like the eggs, the tops were a little crispy, while the insides were still a little sticky. They are very tasty and the mint flavor is a great complement. AFOT bakes this little dessert well. We plan to crumble them tonight and serve them with vanilla ice cream.

All in all, I would describe the Comfee Air Fry Oven toaster as a “jack of all trades, but nothing to do”. It can do a lot, but it doesn’t do much better than our single-function appliances. This is mainly because this is an entry-level device. High-end ones have more featuressuch as digital controls and useful presets, but they can cost more than three times as much.

Will we keep AFOT? Will it replace our air fryers and toasters? We gain something and lose something, so we need to decide whether the gain outweighs the loss. What will we get?

  • The biggest benefit we get is more space in the kitchen because we’ll be replacing two appliances with one.
  • Since we don’t have an oven yet, we’ll get the bake, grill, and warm functions.
  • We will gain flexibility as we can set the time and temperature for each function we use.

What will we lose?

  • We’re going to lose the convenience of presets and have to learn the right settings for what we want to heat.
  • We wasted some time because the included trays were not dishwasher safe, so we had to wash them by hand.
  • We also lost the capacity of the air fryer. The included basket is about a third the size of the basket in our air fryer.

Final verdict? We decided to keep Comfee’s Air Fry Oven toaster! Getting extra space in our kitchen is a big deal, and we love the extra functionality that ovens bring. I think we’ll appreciate them even more next summer when we can bake for two without having to turn on the oven to heat the house. The air fryer and toaster have been relegated to the garage.

what do I like

  • Air fryer, toaster and oven in one
  • Simple, clean design

what would i change

  • Replacing analog timers with digital timers
  • Add an automatic timer halfway through air frying
  • Use English words instead of function icons
  • Includes machine washable tray

final thoughts

The Comfee Air Fry Oven Toaster combines a toaster, air fryer and oven into one gadget. While it lacks the advanced features of high-end products, the analog controls are enough to get the job done. My wife and I have found that it bakes, fries, heats and bakes very well. This appliance has earned a coveted spot in our kitchen and we look forward to using it for years to come.
