Corona incidence rate in 17.8 days-discussion on unvaccinated people

DThe 7-day incidence of coronavirus continues to rise.according to Robert Koch Institute (RKI) Starting this Monday morning, it is now 17.8 nationwide. The previous day’s value was 17.5, and the latest low on July 6 was 4.9.

German health authorities reported 847 new coronavirus infections to RKI in one day. For comparison: a week ago, the value was 958 infections.

To date, this incidence has been the basis for many corona restrictions in the pandemic, for example as part of the Federal Emergency Brake that expires at the end of June. In the future, more consideration will be given to other values such as hospital admission.

According to new information, Germany recorded deaths within 24 hours. The number of deaths due to or confirmed infection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus rose to 91,660.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, RKI has counted 3,772,109 detected Sars-CoV-2 infections. Since many infections have not been detected, the actual total may be much higher. RKI stated that the number of people who have recovered is 3,656,300.

The disadvantage of not being vaccinated?

In the discussion on how to induce more people to be vaccinated, Rolf Mützenich, the head of the SPD parliamentary group, did not rule out the disadvantages of unvaccinated people. “Private providers can certainly provide benefits to people who have been vaccinated or recovered,” he told the Rhein Post. Government agencies must provide services to everyone equally, but hygiene concepts or corona testing may also adversely affect people who have not been vaccinated.

However, Mützenich emphasized that these are not the exclusive rights of people vaccinated against corona. “I think exclusive rights are the wrong term, because the previously restricted basic rights are effective again.” He currently believes that there is no need to modify the law: “I think it is fair and faster for people who are united to be closer to normal conditions.” The Infection Protection Act gives this in its current version.

Annalena Baerbock, the green prime minister candidate, previously described the disadvantages of unvaccinated people as legitimate. If everyone receives a vaccination notice, it cannot be ruled out that people who are vaccinated can do more things than people who cannot be vaccinated, although it is possible,” said Tagesspiegel’s Green Party co-owner.
