East German actor Herbert Koffer dies

From the beginning, Köfer was an iconic figure in East German television: in 1952, he read the first news there-in “Current Camera”. He was there for the last broadcast on New Year’s Eve in 1991. The mime actor starred in DEFA movies such as “Nackt unter Wölfen” (1963) and popular TV series “In allerfreund”, “SOKO Leipzig” and “Ein starkes Team” after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

“I live in every performance, every reading and every day I play,” he himself described his elixir, from which he drew strength and energy. Work keeps him young, he repeatedly emphasized.
