Garmin Forerunner 955 vs Forerunner 945 comparison – now with touchscreen and solar

Sharing is caring!

As usual with Garmin, one of the retailers got a little excited about releasing their product page and leaked the upcoming Garmin Forerunner 955.

The product listing isn’t very detailed, it’s just a general marketing pitch, but it does confirm a lot of things.

Garmin Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 945

The feature set hasn’t changed much, so many people may not want or need to upgrade from the already excellent Forerunner 945.

  • like Phoenix 7the new Forerunner 955 will be equipped with a touch screen.
  • The battery gets a modest upgrade, with the smartwatch from 14 to 15 days, but GPS performance from 26 to 48 hours.
  • Under ideal conditions, solar charging can add an additional 5 days to smartwatch mode. Or 7 hours with basic GPS and 2 hours with all systems GNSS.
  • At least one or both models should have the new multi-band GPS
  • New next-level full-color mapping – but it’s unclear what that is.
  • HRV state and HRV during sleep.
  • Increase music storage space
