What is a controlled lookup?
Control Find or CTRL+F are shortcut keys to find any word or phrase on the web. This shortcut is very useful to easily search for content in the bar instead of viewing all pages, saving us valuable time. Modern cell phones make it easy to do all kinds of things we used to do on laptops and MacBooks. We can easily find all the functions on the phone, easy to carry and use without a laptop. Unfortunately, the iPhone lacks the Control Find feature, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find things easily on the iPhone. There are other options and strategies for using this feature on the iPhone.
How to control Find on iPhone:
Most people use third-party apps to search for content on their iPhone. But there are several ways to find what you’re looking for on your iPhone without using third-party apps. Control Find on iPhone or iPad has a step-by-step guide:
- Use Safari browser
- Use Google Chrome
Use Safari browser
The Safari browser is used to control Find on iPhone. This is one of the easiest ways to search the web.
- Open browser
- Open website
- click icon
- Click “Find on Page”
- enter text

1) Open a browser
Unlock the phone and open the Safari browser. It’s the iPhone’s built-in browser. Just go to the safari browser’s icon and click the icon.
2) Open website
Click the search bar and open the website you want to search.
3) click icon
Go to the bottom of the page and you’ll find an icon with an up arrow. Click the arrow icon and open the list of tabs.
4) Click “Find on Page”
A list of tabs pops up after clicking the arrow icon. Browse the list and you’ll find the “Find on page” option, just click on it.

Enter text in the search bar. All words will pop up and you can easily use the arrows to move up and down to the desired page. The searched words are not highlighted in the safari browser, so you have to find them yourself.
Use Google Chrome
Another way to use Control Find on iPhone is chrome. Install chrome if you don’t have it on your phone. Make sure it’s a newer version, otherwise update it to the latest version.
- open chrome
- Open website
- click icon
- Click “Find in Page”
- enter text
- search
- complete
1) open chrome
You must select Chrome as your default browser in the settings. Clicking the icon will open chrome.
2) Open website
Click the search bar and open the website you want to search.
3) click icon
Go to the bottom of the page and click the three dots icon. The tab will pop up.
4) Click “Find in Page”
Browse the list of pop-up tabs and click Find in Page.
5) enter text
Enter the desired text and click the search button.
6) search
Use the arrow keys to move up and down the page to the desired text. The searched word and the number of times it occurs in the text is highlighted in yellow.
7) complete
Click the “Done” button in the upper right corner when you’re done searching.
How to control F on Google Docs on iPhone:
Apart from the web, each application has a different search method. In Google Docs, you have to select the files you want to search for one by one. There is currently no existing way to search all files at the same time. Here’s a short method to help you.
- open a file
- Select the file
- Go to “More”
- Click “Find and Replace”
- enter text

Find the Documents icon on your phone. Click the icon to open.
2) Select the file
Find the file or document you want to search for and click it. The file will open on your phone.
3) Go to “More”
You will find the “More” option on the page. By clicking More, the tab will pop up on your screen.
4) Click “Find and Replace”
Click the “Find and Replace” button and the search bar will appear in front of you.
5) enter text
Enter the word or phrase you want to search the document for, then click the Search button.
6) search
All words entered in the search bar will appear in the document. You can move up and down to the desired words, or replace them in the document as needed. Click the “Replace” button and all highlighted words will be replaced with the new word.
How to control F-files on iPhone:
“Files” is the app on your phone that contains all the files in it. Finding files on iPhone is easiest because of the search icon at the top of the app. The three simple steps are:
- Open the application
- Enter the filename in the search bar
- complete

Go to the icon called “Files” on your phone and tap it. All files will open on your screen.
2) input filename
A search bar will appear at the top of the screen. Click on the search bar and enter the filename in it.
3) complete
The required files will appear on your screen.
How to Control F PDF on iPhone
You can easily find your PDFs with Acrobat Reader. Simple steps are:
- open acrobat
- search pdf
- complete
1) open acrobat
Click on the app called “Acrobat” on your phone.
2) search pdf
You will see a magnifying glass in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on the magnifying glass icon and a search bar will appear. Enter the pdf name in the search bar.
3) complete
The desired pdf will open on your screen.
