Review – I have been a multi-monitor user since the late 1990s. As a software developer, my workflow has always been to deal with multiple applications at the same time while writing code. In order to improve my portable workflow, I decided to try the Innocn PF15-PRO portable touch screen monitor on my laptop.

What is it?

Design and features

In the past few years, I have used my laptop more frequently for software testing and photo editing while traveling. I recently tried the Lepow 14-inch portable monitor. Although I really like it, I think it would be nice to try a larger touch screen monitor.

Although the Lepow monitor is good, the two things it doesn’t provide is that the monitor is larger than my laptop monitor, and it doesn’t have a built-in battery. Innocn portable displays solve these two problems by adding touch screen functions.

The first thing I noticed about the Innocn PF15-PRO monitor is its weight. Although unavoidable, the monitor is significantly heavier (2.20 pounds) than a monitor without its own battery power supply. Although the 5000mAh battery adds weight, when I turned it on, this aspect was quickly ignored because the display is so gorgeous, bright, colorful and clear.

Innocn PF15-PRO monitor supports USB Type-C and Mini-HDMI video connections. Although I connected the monitor via HDMI, I also tested it with a Type-C connection. There is also a second Type-C connection that can be used to provide touch screen control when using HDMI.

With 100% sRGB color gamut, 400 nits brightness and 1500:1 contrast ratio, the Innocn PF15-PRO display looks great. For those accustomed to using 32-inch and 40-inch monitors, the increased display area is a welcome addition to the “compact” 14-inch laptop monitor.

The 178° viewing angle allows you to easily view the PF15-Pro from extreme angles.

The built-in speakers are enough to watch videos, but you certainly won’t play music from a distance. However, in any case, anyone who wants to play music from a laptop may have external speakers.

Compared to a typical button control system, the menu system is definitely better to use with a touch screen interface, although like many other displays, it is mainly icons without text descriptions. Initially, the timeout period of the menu is very short, but there is a menu that allows you to extend it to a more reasonable time, such as 10 seconds.

The included case/bracket is very similar to a typical tablet case/bracket. This is where I find the main thing I don’t like. The cover is folded back to become a stand for the display. The lid/bracket has two disadvantages. First, the monitor has only one location. Secondly, any debris on the table will enter the bottom (inside) of the lid. When the cover is folded back to cover the monitor during transportation, any debris on the cover will touch the screen.

PF15-Pro with the lid closed.

Innocn PF15-PRO is equipped with a power adapter, Type-C power cord, Type-C video cable, and HDMI to Mini-HDMI cable for devices that do not support video connected via Type-C.

How about battery life? I am glad you asked. Innocn PF15-PRO is advertised as “…a full charge can work and play for up to 4 hours”. In fact, I found that the battery life can be longer than this. I ran a session, I played 5 hours of YouTube videos, but still had 45% battery. I am very impressed.

Bright colors, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 400+ nits of brightness make the PF-15-Pro an excellent choice.

what do I like

  • Great brightness
  • Great color
  • Built-in battery
  • Very thin design

What will i change

  • Cover/bracket can be improved

Final thoughts

In general, I think Innocn PF15-PRO is an excellent portable monitor. The color, brightness and contrast are excellent. The battery life is very long, and the touch screen function can sometimes be helpful.
