Inofia is a guest mattress that can replace air mattresses or those ugly old-fashioned rollaway beds. I’ve considered getting a sofa bed, but they seem very uncomfortable and have to make beds for guests.

Unboxing
The Inofia mattress is like any other memory foam mattress. It’s vacuum-packed in a cardboard box, which makes the logistics of selling mattresses online much easier.
The package isn’t too heavy; Amazon lists the mattress as 7.76kg. Once out of the box, you’ll need to cut through the plastic and fold the mattress using the included packaging opening.
Over the next few minutes, the mattress will begin to expand to full size. The model I bought is only 15cm thick, so it doesn’t expand as well as regular memory foam mattresses, which are usually 25cm+. During the unboxing process, I didn’t reduce any exhaust, which is common with this type of mattress.

Initial impressions are not very good. The Amazon photo shows a nice, perfectly folded mattress, when in reality it looks like three memory foam sections are loosely attached to the mattress cover.
As the mattress expands, it does fill up with the mattress cover, and it does fold into a very flat, comfortable mattress.
Because of the way it folds, one of the mattress sections has a large gap where the fabric connects to the middle section of the floor. On the other end of the mattress, the cloth is laid flat on top. This can seem irritating because the mattress parts may come apart while sleeping. But, not bad, I kept the lower body part with gaps and my upper body in the smoother part.
Using a tight-fitting bottom sheet should help avoid lower separation, but I didn’t notice it even with a looser sheet.
The end result is a relatively comfortable night’s sleep. It’s far better than any air mattress I’ve ever used, but it’s a far cry from the comfort of a proper bed.
storage
I bought the 15cm small double bed, so it takes up quite a bit of space, but is much smaller than the mattress I’ve been leaning against the wall in the past. You might be able to tuck it into a large cupboard, but really, you have to find a room where you don’t mind putting it in.
Price and Alternatives
The MSRP I bought for the small 15cm double room was £219.99. I bought it for £169.06, which is what it was at the time of writing.
A 10cm thick mattress is currently priced at £109.56.
Milliard makes a variety of tri-fold mattresses and I doubt they will be the same. They have a 10cm single piece for £109.99 and a 15cm double piece (135cm wide) for £174.99.
Milliard also makes a folding mattress that folds up to become a seat/sofa. Singles are £117.99 and doubles are £164.99.
The cheapest option I could find was Bobby’s Bedware, which costs £62.99 for a single.
overall
The Inofia mattress wasn’t the ideal solution I was hoping for, but it’s still the best option I’ve found. At the end of the day, a temporary/guest bed is never incredibly comfortable.
Storage is an issue, but it takes up far less space than a sofa bed or rollaway bed. I should be able to tuck it into my box.
I think this would also work well in a camper van or other alternative living arrangements. When folded up, it makes a great makeshift sofa.
