review – Of all the gadgets I look at, my wife prefers me to look at the gadgets that actually do something—cleaning, for example. She doesn’t care about my audio pinning at all. No – as long as I look back at something that makes her life easier, she’s fine with the time I spend on testing and writing. Just to let you know, she agrees with this comment. But do we (and more importantly – the Queen) approve of the new Roborock Dyad Wet & Dry to help keep our floors clean?
What is it?
The Dyad is Roborock’s newest – and only – wet and dry vacuum. It does what the product name implies. It mops and sucks up wet mess, keeping floors clean. DyadPower — what Roborock calls a battery/charger system — simply means it’s wireless.
Dyad uses room-temperature tap water from its freshwater tank (or water mixed with Roborock’s floor cleaner solution), wets three counter-rotating drums, and sucks wet waste into the recovery tank. The vacuum action leaves the floor dry (or slightly damp, which evaporates quickly).
It has an LED screen that shows the battery level, tank water level and different cleaning modes: floor dry, automatic and maximum cleaning modes. Dyad comes with a charging base that doubles as a self-cleaning stand to help keep the rollers clean after use.
Dyad also has voice alerts – more on that later in the comments.

Design and Features
Since my wife is a clean freak, she insisted on keeping our floors spotless. She also insists on doing it herself because I “do not do as good a job as her” (her words – very true). So this usually gets me out of trouble. Sometimes I help with vacuuming and mopping, but it’s rare.
Saturdays are usually cleaning days and in the past our tile floors (carpets are off-limits in our house) were steam cleaned after vacuuming. I’ve never been a fan of steam cleaners because when you use it, it pushes on an increasingly dirty mop/pad. So, when Roborock made the Dyad available for review, I jumped up, hoping to convince my wife that it might be a more hygienic way to clean floors.
Immediately after the Roborock Dyad arrived, we had a problem: the machine kept telling us verbally that the clean water tank was empty – it had just filled up. Note that Dyad will not work if the clean water tank is empty, or even if Dyad thinks it is.
Note to Roborock: While voice prompts are convenient, keep the volume down. Unless the pod door doesn’t close fast enough, this sounds like a science-fiction countdown to the end of the world. The good news is that you can turn off the voice prompts or change the language if you want to hear loud prompts in Spanish or French (my wife’s favorite).
When we realized we had a defective Dyad, I called me with support from Roborock and they walked me through some corrective steps, but it didn’t fix the problem. The very nice and helpful support staff (kudos to Roborock!) took the problem to the next level, and a few days later Roborock dispatched a replacement unit. We were later told that the first Dyad cleaners were pre-production units with circuit board issues that were resolved when the production units shipped.
Once the replacement arrived, everything was fine. Let me rephrase: Once the replacement arrived, everything was fine. Roborock Dyad Rock.
Using Dyad is easy. Out of the box, all you need to do is snap on the handle and snap the charging stand/roller cleaner together. Dyad needs to be fully charged before use.
In automatic mode, battery life is 35 minutes. Battery life in max mode is much shorter. My suggestion is to use Dyad only in automatic mode.
Although not required, if there is a mess that needs Max mode, I recommend cleaning it up with a paper towel forward Use duals. This way, Dyad can clean more easily.
The Roborock Dyad vacuum doesn’t stand up on its own, though it comes with what’s best known as a stand. As the stand unfolds, the Dyad’s handle doesn’t fall all the way to the floor, protecting your back.
When on, you can select Auto or Max mode from a button on the handle. The automatic mode adjusts itself as you clean. The LED screen has a dial that changes from blue to red to indicate how much “dirt” Dyad has encountered. Max mode is what it says it is – all the way. Again, I recommend avoiding Max.
When the Roborock Dyad vacuum cleaner is vacuuming, the two rows of rollers rotate in opposite directions, pushing rubbish into the dirty water tank during the vacuuming process. This method also cleans better because the rollers go over the same area in different directions as you clean. These rollers go to the edge so you can clean all the way to the baseboard. Dyad’s cleaning head swivels for easier cleaning of table, chair legs and other obstructions. However, it won’t lay itself flat out of the way of furniture.
Pushing and pulling Dyad requires minimal effort. The spinning wheel helps it move in the direction you want. However, when it’s closed, its weight makes it difficult to move or carry.
Dyad vacuums not only pick up spills and other wet litter, but they can also suck up dry spills, such as treats or dry dog food. Even so, I wouldn’t buy a Dyad for this reason. Sweeping up dry spills with a broom and bin is easier than dragging out a vacuum cleaner (any vacuum cleaner). Dyad shines from damp or wet/dry mess.
If you have pets, you may need to vacuum with a regular vacuum first. Roborock says pet hair can clog Dyad’s rollers. Getting your hair done first can save you a bit of trouble.
Both the upper clean water tank and the lower dirty water tank can be easily removed for filling and emptying. When done, they pop right back into place. The dirty water tank is removable for easy cleaning. When you’re done cleaning, just empty the tank in the sink or outside if you want.
Roborock sells a cleaner that you can add to Dyad, but I’ve never liked using any type of floor cleaner because they can attract more grime with the residue they leave behind. Oddly, Roborock didn’t include a sample of their own cleaner in the box. Maybe this is a hint?
Although the rollers clean themselves in the base after use, they will occasionally need to be removed for a more thorough cleaning. Self-cleaning mode allows more time between manual cleanings.
The cool thing is that when you vacuum, the power of the Roborock Dyad actually dries the floor as you clean. I only see damp residue from cleaning in a few places. Even so, it evaporates quickly. Therefore, wood or laminate floors are safe when Dyad is used.

final thoughts
As I said before, the Roborock Dyad Wet and Dry Vacuum is a welcome addition to our home. My wife appreciates how it cleans without spilling increasingly dirty water on the floor.we can actually Feel Barefoot floors are cleaner after use, we couldn’t feel it after steam mopping. In fact, the steam mop hasn’t been used since Dyad – not at all. My wife loves Dyad as much as I do.
Now, if I can get her to appreciate the audio equipment…
