MeterGiven what the global climate crisis is driving normal life, and how its solutions truly become a survival issue, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change does not have to rediscover all of these in the first part of its sixth assessment report. Anyone can see it coming or at least read it, not just campaigners seeking climate protection votes according to their disaster logic. There is no shortage of information on this issue.
But if it is not for the IPCC, who can have the necessary authority on this question that has been repeatedly sceptical of ideology and can frankly tell the truly great and disturbing truth of our civilization? For a long time, people lacked courage in politics and lacked interest in most areas of the economy.
It must be over now. Not only the terrible and touching images from the flood-stricken areas of the country, or the burning habitats of Mediterranean countries such as Greece and Turkey, are forcing every citizen to learn a new way to deal with the increased risks of their own lifestyle: it’s time to question habits And closed the convenience of climate policy.
Like electric shock therapy
This is also very important-this may prove to be a solution after the release of the new IPCC report part-if the abyss opened before us as the ecological subsystem gradually collapses is almost scientifically soberly retreated. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the embodiment of this approach. In particular, the first working group without climate policy authorization has been constantly shaking its scientific climate knowledge for more than 30 years, constantly receiving new shocks, and having a strong voice.
In their new analysis, there is no longer any doubt about man-made climate change. The Council outlined that the language of the Earth’s outlook derived from improved climate models has never been clearer. The IPPC can easily reinforce this, because the knowledge gained from more than 14,000 research papers further strengthens confidence in its findings.
The omen is obvious
Uncertainty in all aspects of global warming has long been a gateway to skeptics and procrastinators, and it still exists. The future of the Antarctic ice mass, the crossing of possible critical points, will bring sudden changes to most parts of the world-these are two long-term developments that cannot be quantified.
However, the signs are obvious: Our behavior today is in the wrong direction. This is why these remaining uncertainties and gaps are completely unsuitable for alleviating the pressure of society to take action. On the contrary: starting from the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change more than 30 years ago, climate facts can no longer be freed from political constraints. Especially in the near future, the acceleration of climate change will cause our society to face the tragic reality of disasters at shorter and shorter intervals. Everything now shows that this will happen in full.
At the same time, greenhouse gas emissions are again targeted at the maximum after the corona declines. Only a few countries have announced improved national climate targets, but the most important is the binding climate target of the Winter Glasgow Climate Summit.According to the facts accumulated in the IPCC report, one thing is clear: if climate policy does not completely brake, it will not be able to comply with the 1.5 degrees Celsius ceiling set by Paris in the next ten years.
Every tenth degree is important
In this regard, the contribution made by the entire climate research community at the same time is also remarkable: the reference value of every tenth of a degree, including one tenth of a degree, proposes a new solution strategy and downwardly corrects global warming. For example, can the excess carbon dioxide that enters the atmosphere today and tomorrow and stay there for a thousand years be removed from the air—and thus stability can be restored?
This very dangerous option was systematically and thoroughly distinguished for the first time, but it was not finally considered in the IPCC assessment report. This also reminds us that climate protection is not only about temperature or physical limitations, but also about a series of systemic risks, including risks that affect inhumanity.
