Joe Biden and Jen Psaki have always acted as if the federal government has the power to turn off what they call “misinformation” by putting pressure on or cooperating with large technology companies to flag things/ban people.

The government cannot determine what is acceptable speech-this is why we made the Constitution and the First Amendment. When they do something like this and admit to trying to shut down information and ban people, it should worry all of us, no matter which side of the political aisle we are on. When they ask large technology companies to operate under government requirements, it provides credibility to the legal argument that they are actually making large technology companies “state actors.”
But, of course, the real irony of all this is that the Biden team is one of the biggest disseminators of misinformation there. In fact, as this compilation video shows, it was Kamala Harris and Joe Biden who spread misinformation (according to their own current standards) and hesitated about vaccines last year. Harris said that if President Donald Trump supported it, she would not accept it. But he is—and she is—so, of course, that is a campaign gesture.
