Dear listener or listener
I am writing to you on the mountain.
I am lucky that my family has a house on the mountain. In fact, my parents decided to buy it when my mother retired years ago.
Our house on the hill is very close to the French border. If you don’t know, in fact, I live in Piedmont, a region in northwestern Italy that borders France.
The house is very beautiful, it was newly built and therefore very modern. The furniture is new and simpler than our house in the province of Turin*, which is older and full of objects, so it is often messy.
Our house near Turin is at the beginning, at the entrance to the so-called Susa Valley. Our mountain home is in a real valley. This is a great place for skiing or walking in the woods and trails.
Personally, I don’t ski often, but I like walking. I also like the cooler climate in the mountains than in the cities, especially in summer when the temperature in Turin is over 30 degrees and the humidity is 70%.
Do you like mountains? Have you been to the mountains of Italy?

Dear listener (male) or listener (female)
I am writing to you on the mountain.
I am very lucky* My family owns a house in the mountains (light up in the mountains). A few years ago, when my mother retired (i.e. went to receive a pension), my parents decided to buy one (i.e. buy).
Our house on the hill is very close to the French border. If you don’t know, I live in Piedmont, (this is) a region in northwestern Italy, bordering France.
The house is beautiful, it was built recently, so it is modern. Compared to our house near Turin (in the province of Turin), these furniture are new and simpler, the latter is older and full of objects, so it is often messy.
Our house near Turin was the beginning of the so-called Susa Valley. Our house on the mountain is in the real valley. This is a great place for sky or hiking (light walking) in the woods and on the trails.
Personally, I don’t like the sky very much, but I like walking.
Regarding the mountains, I really like the cool weather compared to the city, especially in summer, when we are in Turin (there are) over 30 degrees (Celsius, dear American: D) and the humidity is 70%.
Do you like mountains? Have you been to the mountains of Italy?
